Ed Orgeron and the LSU coaching staff received some good news on Wednesday evening when cornerback Marcus Scott announced his commitment to the Tigers.

The Woodlands, Texas (College Park) native is LSU's eight verbal commit for 2022 and the Tigers second cornerback in the class. LSU first offered Scott on Jan. 2.

Landing a solid group of cornerbacks in 2022 will be a top priority for LSU as they only signed one, Damarius McGhee, in 2021 and will likely lose Derek Stingley Jr. to the NFL after next season.

Meh. Until these kids show up on campus, it’s really hard for me to even get excited about stuff like this so far out.

Who is this kid? He is unranked and only got offers from Houston and UNLV? Did I miss something?

A shut down corner and baller with ball skills! How many stars? Who cares? Only star coaches find star players, before they even get stars. Geaux Tigers!

I read this 3 times and no where does it say if he is a 3 star 4 or 5. 1 or 2?

I’ve seen him play in person. I would say unrated, or maybe a 1 star. Got benched late in the season. He’s tall, and runs track.

I'll get on board with your "boom" as soon as he signs his LOI and doesn't enter the transfer portal midseason.

Stuff like this makes me think we as fans put too much emphasis on what matters to these recruits. I know 2022 is a ways off, but we had a total shite show of a season and we don’t even have a def coordinator and still get a def commit.

Boo hoo. LSU has played in 4 National Championship Games in the last 18 years and won 3 of them. LSU has won 6 SEC West Titles and 5 SEC Titles in the last 20 years. 3 straight LSU Head Coaches have won National Titles. LSU was 15-0 and National Champions in 2019 and LSU had 14 players drafted in the 2020 Draft including 5 1st Rounders. Yet, “Chicken Little” fans like yourself only see last season after losing 40% of the roster. Short memory to say the least.

Watched film. Stars don't mean much to me, but his film is just OK. Got heavy feet. Good size, and can definitely progress.
