Report: Tape In Federal Court Links Will Wade To $300k 'Deal' To Get Naz Reid

During the NCAA corruption trial in New York on Monday a tape was played that connected head coach Will Wade to a $300,000 'deal' to land former power forward Naz Reid.

The FBI video has audio of Emanuel "Book" Richardson, a former Arizona basketball assistant coach from 2009-2017, discussing the offer for Reid. Per The Advocate:

Richardson said Wade had approached him informally about leaving Arizona for a job at LSU to help the Tigers land Reid. Arizona and LSU were hotly battling at the time for a commitment from Reid, who publicly named the universities as his two top choices.

Richardson said in the video that Wade told him, “Look, there’s a deal in place, I got $300,000 for him."

Richardson said he responded by telling Wade, “S***, give me half that and I’ll make sure he goes there.”

Offers don't exist in vacuums. If there's an offer from one coach, it's because he's competing against multiple offers. That's why nothing will happen here - it's pulling a loose thread on a sweater. The whole thing will unravel. Cue Weezer.

They can’t go after only one university. That’s why i think Wade is safe. If they bury Wade and LSU, there are 30 or 40 other programs including the blue bloods that will have to be buried too. Too much money made by the NCAA to let that happen.

So a guy who lost a recruiting battle had an offer to come to LSU, doesn’t and says LSU offered money. Sorry if I need actual proof, not a guy telling a story. If that’s the case every story you hear is fact?
