Former Georgia football player Ahkil Crumpton, 26, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison without parole for participating in an attempted robbery that left a store clerk dead, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution...
quote:

"Crumpton still faces state murder charges in the March 2021 killing of 23-year-old Elijah Wood, a RaceTrac worker who was shot and killed during a robbery attempt," said 11Alive.com.

Wood was shot and killed at a RaceTrac on Highway 441 in Oconee County, Georgia on March 19, 2021. Crumpton, who played for the Bulldogs in 2017-18 and was a student at the university until 2021, was arrested in March 2022 after ballistics testing proved that the gun he used to murder a man in his native Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was the same one used to shoot Wood.

"Ahkil Crumpton’s violent crime ended Elijah Wood’s young life and has been the cause of immeasurable pain to many people in the Oconee County community and beyond,” said U.S. Attorney Peter D. Leary. “Local, state and federal agencies have worked tirelessly to seek justice on behalf of Elijah. Our hope is the conclusion of the federal case offers some peace for all those who have been affected by this tragedy.”

Sad. D'Andre Swift said that one of the reasons he chose Georgia was to get away from his hometown of Philly.

It is likely that he was never morally or intellectually qualified to play college football.

He hasn’t been tried for murder yet. He has one in GA and one in PA.
30 years is about right for what the conviction entailed, which were firearms related federal charges in relation to the robbery.
