Where is the best place in Baton Rouge to buy a mattress? What brand? There are so many choices.

Like my Dad told me when I went shopping:

You should definitely go cheap. You just spend 1/3 of your day there and it won’t affect your back at all. See if you can buy a bundle.

If you like medium or medium firm

IMHO: Casper or the hybrid from Costco. Trial it, if you don't like it than move onto the next.

I personally hate the hybrid compared to my brooklyn bedding mattress (they also provide a 120 night trial)

There is a lot we do not know here but for what it’s worth, I just did a lot of research in order to choose one. I pulled the trigger on Winkbeds. I bought the luxury firm. Been sleeping very comfortably. Good luck!

Cheap or expensive, they all seem to wear out in under 3 years.

Years ago…

Walked into Mattress store in St Tammany and found sales person, who was only person in the store, dead-to-world asleep on mattress towards back of store. Could hear loud snoring when entering store.

Best marketing I had ever seen.

Bought one on the spot. Alpha waves!

Being fat will do that. My Zinus from seven years ago is still perfectly fine.

I went cheap on my last mattress purchase and it's the best mattress I've ever had. It's an "Amazon Basics Gel Memory Foam" king size. I paid $400. I've had it for 2 years and it feels just as good as the day I bought it. Its pretty firm for a memory foam which was a pleasant surprise since I prefer firm mattresses. My girlfriend complained about it at first because it was too firm but now she loves it and says she gets better sleep at my place than her own bed. I think that's because I usually give her the D when she stays over but maybe it's the mattress. Anyway, I highly recommend the cheap amazon basics gel memory foam mattress and when this one wears out I'll simply replace it with another. For $400 I can afford to buy one every year and still come out ahead better than getting an expensive mattress.

I have a Saatva Latex Hybrid, but it's on the firmer side.

Look at Brooklyn Bedding. Winkbeds, as mentioned earlier, is good. Saatva is a bit more expensive.

Get a pillow top, and stay in the 6 to 6.5 range of firmness for what you're after.

Too many options under $1k so dont go crazy. Personally, I go firm and add a topper
