re: Will Clemson be exposed by tOSU or Vice Versa?

Clemson by 3-4 TDs.
The Big 10 is a joke. It is the most completely slow conference that passes the eye test because everyone is moving so slow it’s easy to follow.

Yes. Kid goes to Alabama he HAS to play in Final 4 EVERY year. Otherwise you are stuck in Tuscaloosa Alabama for 3-5 good years of your life whereas you could be somewhere closer to home and/or that isn’t the armpit of the southeast playing for a selfish POS.
re: Reports now....Aranda not to be named UNLV coach
Posted by David_French on 12/11/19 at 7:57 am to The Egg
Reason to take a job like UNLV or Colorado State and the accompanying 50% salary haircut for Aranda is to win 7-9 games for a couple or few years like Norvell at Memphis and turn that into a $5m per P5 job.

Let us celebrate CurrentYear America.
Where a kid with some attention deficit issues is heavily medicated to change his behavior, but a man announcing he wants to cut his penis off or take another man's penis up his anus is celebrated as a genuine and brave hero.

If we need another safety to balance out this class, this kid would be my choice. Rummel kids usually work out.

Muschamp is gone after this year. I can understand Momma wanting him to be close to her for 3-4 years regardless of who the HC is, but Muschamp won't be around.
re: Breakout player for next year

I agree with you on Palmer offensively. No sure why Dillon saw more playing time that him thus far?
On defense, I'm expecting Marcel Brooks to break out starting in the Oklahoma game and (hopefully) the championship game, which will officially be "next year".

re: Shea mentioning a 5 star

Seems to me like we will have 3 RBs next year. Either Davis-Price, Emery and Evans or Davis-Price, Emery and Curry. Consensus seems to be if Evans signs a returning RB will transfer. If Evans doesn't come, no reason not to believe all 3 will stay and compete for the #1 job?
With the exception of Clayton, doesn't seem to be a P5 RB in-state in this class? No Etienne's or CEH's out there? How about in-state '21? Any rising star (no pun intended)?

Evans is the key recruit for Cuck Jimbo. I don't know if Peveto can pull it off? The guy who could and would is now with Mack at UNC.
I hate Alabama and Auburn but
Posted by David_French on 12/8/19 at 2:19 pm
They would both beat the hell out of Penn State and Wisconsin. Ranking those B10 teams over Alabama and Auburn is a joke.
re: If Ohio State loses to Wisconsin, how far do they fall?
Posted by David_French on 12/6/19 at 9:14 am to medium_okra
They'd fall to a weaker #1 because they'd still have that super duper impressive win over the greatest 2 loss team in the history of football, not just college, of football in total in Penn State.
re: Mo Hampton will be the reason Our D domninates Saturday
Posted by David_French on 12/5/19 at 12:44 pm to cheeser
Harris was a poor man's Hampton.
Hampton's emergence is huge for LSU's defense. The guy is a tremendous instinctive athlete.

re: haven't watched much georgia. what is their go-to O set?
Posted by David_French on 12/5/19 at 12:42 pm to Philzilla2k
Expect to see alot of 2 TE sets. Probably their standard set this Saturday. Overloaded lines with power sweeps to Swift hoping to pick up 4+ yards per rush to run the clock and keep the LSU offense off the field. I don't expect Fromm to attempt more than 20 passes and 3rd and 3-4 will be a run down for Georgia.
re: Much respect for Shelvin.
Posted by David_French on 12/5/19 at 8:34 am to KTiger85
Really hope Shelvin comes back. I think he's a 3-5th round pick if he comes out this year. If he comes back and improves from this year to next like he did this year I think he can be a legitimate top 20 overall pick.
re: Basketball 2020 class? Any size?
Posted by David_French on 12/5/19 at 8:30 am to nicholastiger
I don't think there is any correlation between being ready for the NBA and leaving as a one and done. I think the safest assumption is any top 25 overall player out of high school/McDonalds A-A, etc. is going to be a one and done unless something unusual happens. It's essentially predetermined. Unless you have a kid who really is enjoying college they are leaving whether that results in being a first round pick and getting guaranteed contract or doing the G-League/Europe tour.
Regardless, I think this team needs a legit 6'9"+ inside player and will still need one in 2020-21 whether Watford comes back or not.

re: The Cincinnati situation
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 3:31 pm to TchPowDog
Why pick on Cincinatti?
The joke was Penn State ever being ranked in the top 4 and being ranked in the top 10 now and Michigan still being ranked in the top 15. I'd take Cincinatti and Memphis over either of those teams.

re: I'm no fan of Clay Travis...but he gets it right here
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 3:25 pm to CP3forMVP
The last 4 National Championship games have been Alabama v. Clemson or Georgia. The Committee does not want another SEC v ACC or worse SEC v SEC championship game. Thus, the committee wants LSU to beat Georgia to keep 2 SEC teams out of the final 4 and will match-up Clemson and LSU in semis to avoid either of them beating Ohio State by 2 TD's in the semifinals.
Basketball 2020 class? Any size?
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 2:48 pm
We got the 5* shooting guard and the point guard out of Walker. We are taking the 6'8" teammate of the 5* star which make sense but he's a bench guy.
I'm seeing Watford projected early as a one-and-done and possible 1st round pick. I guess Williams and Days will both be back unless they are tired of college basketball.
Seems like this class needs a legitimate big. Any legitimate prospects left out there in '20?

re: The reason we will not get the one seed!!
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 2:42 pm to tjohn deaux
I think you are correct about wanting a LSU v Ohio State championship game and they know Ohio State isn't beating Clemson in a #2 v #3 matchup. Ohio State is going to struggle mightily with Oklahoma or Utah. Ideal for the committee is for somehow Baylor to get the spot opposite Ohio State so the Buckeyes have a chance to win.
re: Clay Travis "CFP rig job" against LSU
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 2:35 pm to TheFlyingTiger
The 2 best teams are LSU and Clemson. Either of them would boatrace Ohio State by 2 TD's. Either of them would be the first team Ohio State has played this year who has more than 4 players on the field with better than 4.8 speed.
re: Basketball depth
Posted by David_French on 12/4/19 at 2:24 pm to basiletiger
It really does. It seems the only guys over 6-6 Wade trusts are Days, Williams and Watford and Watford is the biggest at 6'7. I thought at least Cooper could give 10 minutes a game and pick up a dunk and a few rebounds and fouls. Seems like he's not even trusted for that?
Everyone's bench gets longer come February-March but looks like we will be playing 7-8 players from the jump. Thanks NCAA and Alleva!
