Superdome Views - Final Four

Posted by agrawe12 on 3/23/22 at 9:27 am
Just reaching out if anyone went to the 2012 Final four at the Superdome or have been to one in general at a massive football stadium.

Trying to do my diligence on buying tickets, but it’s hard to find expected views etc. online.

Thinking mid-court 300 section would deliver a very good view. Any thoughts?

Although these may be not directly from COVID-19, the weird year differently plays a factor. This isn’t going to be a normal year, there aren’t going to be 100k at the Bama game. Combine that with the fact that there is an off chance the season doesn’t even finish, it shouldn’t be shocking. While I think we may see more of this in the future, this season shouldn’t be a true reflection of what is to come due to current circumstances.
still 3 months until the game... step in the right direction for sure.
From a tournament prospective (conference, regional, super, CWS) afternoon games will be brutal pushed out a month. I’m from Omaha and this would not be received well at all from the locals.
1. The game last year at 2:30 was the most watched game of the year
2. UGA and Bama guaranteed to both be 2-0 and in the top 6ish.
3. Clemson at ND on NBC 11/7 night.

Those 3 factors make it really an easy choice for CBS. Totally sucks tho
Game is prolly gonna happen at 2:30 again this year unfortunately. Or fortunately for you it sounds like
Will be curious to see if we get kick off times the next few weeks. Usually gets announced last week in May for the first few weeks of season
Clemson-ND this year is same day as Bama-LSU.
I may be over simplifying this, but in my opinion if football and other sporting events are cancelled the economy won’t even recover 50% of the way as it is now. I’m not saying we need to play football and the economy is more important than peoples life’s because we have to do what we need to do protect people. I’m just saying if football and other concerts etc. don’t happen by fall it essentially applies it’s not safe out there. I just don’t know what I would spend any money on if there really isn’t anything to do. Buckle up this could get really interesting
Getting tired of this BS but it’s so addicting to look at.

1. Summer classes are moved online because most start in June and run through July, so it wouldn’t be a “bad look” to bring players back in July IF it is deemed safe enough.

2. There is no way these games would be played without fans in the stands. That would just be an absolute terrible look and is not college football.

-Takeaway: by June 1st we will have a good idea on which way the country is heading, but until then we are totally guessing on what’s going to happen.
America follows such a heard mentality. All golf majors just moved to August, September, and November. I really think in a month most will think tiger stadium will be packed this fall. Not saying it’s the right thing to do or the script won’t flip again, but just watch.
People need to stop being so negative. Live in the moment + a month and stay home. Yes, as things look in the present there is no chance for football. But there is plenty of time for that to change with new research, facts, etc..

Who the hell knows.

Raddison/Red Roof I-10

Posted by agrawe12 on 2/9/20 at 12:02 pm
Anyone know what happened to the old raddison now red roof right of I-10 by lsu? I stayed there (raddison) for the bama game in 2018 and it wasn't too bad of a hotel. I saw it got sold recently and is now the Red Roof and reading reviews it went to absolute shite. I booked it for this years bama game but was planning on cancelling/a finding a new places. Anyways just got an email this morning saying it won't be open in November. Hopefully it got sold and someone is redoing it? I called this am and it went straight to a voicemail

Wondering if anyone knows whats up
NBC announces Clemson ND a night game. Interesting to see what cbs does

NOLA National Championship

Random thought, but very grateful for New Orleans getting to host a few weeks ago. Say what you want about New Orleans, but it is the perfect city to have a big football event because it is nearly impossible to make it "corporate" with Bourbon Street, relaxed open containers etc..

I'm a Chiefs fan and the thought of going to the suburbs of Miami for the Super Bowl sounds miserable in comparison.

:geauxtigers:
I talked to Brennan at 3am the night of the natty. I don’t recall what I said to him.

End of story
Melbas $1 Daquris on Monday is the best deal in town! Had about 6 before heading to the Dome last week.

re: Odds for night game vs Bama 2020

Doing some research it looks like NBC announces all games in mid-April, which is before CBS announces early season games in Late May. NBC gets first dibs, they will make Clemson ND a night game. Just a question or does CBS want to rival it or play it conservative with UGA BAMA.
Two obstacles in the way:

1. Georgia at Bama early in the season. (Guaranteed to be a big game with both teams undefeated tons of eye balls)
2. Clemson plays at Notre Dame 11/7 as well. You would assume NBC would want to make this a night game.

Going to be real interesting to see what happens if CBS doesn’t take Georgia Bama. You would assume both networks would not want their marquee of the game going on at the same time. I’m very intrigued by the dynamics of this lol.

Still think there is a decent chance. I’ll be making the trip no matter what!
