Anyone know what happened to the old raddison now red roof right of I-10 by lsu? I stayed there (raddison) for the bama game in 2018 and it wasn't too bad of a hotel. I saw it got sold recently and is now the Red Roof and reading reviews it went to absolute shite. I booked it for this years bama game but was planning on cancelling/a finding a new places. Anyways just got an email this morning saying it won't be open in November. Hopefully it got sold and someone is redoing it? I called this am and it went straight to a voicemail

Wondering if anyone knows whats up

Lwcc bought them and is tearing them down to build additional office space. I can't remember where I read this last week. Perhaps the Business Report.

I call my boy Patel and he tells me when the ho/legitimate clientele ratio tips on local hotels, and I then stay away. That place has tipped.

LWCC acquires closed Red Roof Inn, plans to demolish it
By Holly Duchmann
The Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corp. has acquired the Red Roof Inn property near S. Acadian Thruway, visible from I-10, with plans to demolish the closed hotel.

In a deal that closed Monday, LWCC acquired the property for $4 million from Kalpesh Patel, who sold the property through Jayvivek La LLC. The hotel has been closed for several weeks.

LWCC Chief Marketing Officer Seth Irby says the owners of the Red Roof Inn approached the insurance carrier after it acquired the La Quinta Inn, adjacent to LWCC, in November. Demolition began yesterday on the La Quinta property and could run through April, says Irby.

LWCC doesn’t have plans for the La Quinta or Red Roof Inn properties beyond demolition, he says, adding that the company is evaluating its options with the board of directors and that a decision could be made within the coming months.

“We saw it as an opportunity to improve the community and local area,” Irby says, “and it also gives us a larger area surrounding our property.”
