Lowrance FS Elite 9

Those systems are highly sensitive to subtle current changes. You could take of and reinstall the power wires at the battery. Try the negative first

Check battery and connections
Check inline fuse and or fuse on panel
Unplug power and connect it back
After that yes sounds like it took a crap
If it’s an elite ti 9 I had one that just gave it up as well

Turn the unit completely off.

Press and hold the Pages button (the key with the cross/pages icon) and do not let go.

Press the Power button once while keeping the Pages button held down.Listen for a two-tone beep, then release the Pages button.

Wait for the unit to reboot until the Select Language screen appears.

If that’s doesn’t work do the full (Hard) reset, you will lose all your data

I have an old 9” Elite TI2 if yours has crapped out. I upgrade to the 12” model.

I have an Elite Ti2 7 that I think just went out. It just reboots itself whenever it decides to and makes me go through the system setup each time. I've swapped power cables and checked everything. I can only assume it's the unit.

Do you know if the 9 and the 7 use the same cables? I might be interested if your looking to offload it.

I had a Lowrance Carbon 9 go out last year. It was only 2 years old. I sent it to Lowrance to see if they could repair it. I had to choose, before the repair, if they couldn't repair it that they would send me a replacement at full price. I didn't like having to make that decision before hand, but I thought there was a decent chance they could repair it. Well, I was wrong. I got an almost immediate response that they were sending a replacement at full price. I was not a fan of that process and would not buy a Lowrance product again because of that.

I am switching boats every 24 months now and in my area, Garmin is king. Everyone wants Garmin. It just makes the boats easier to sell. Plus, I end up using the units more for charting than sonar in this shallow water so Garmin mapping is just very good in my area.


I like sticking with Lowrance since I know everything about the HDS units. Ive had them for ove 15 years on my boats. Garmin will be a new learning experience.
