The subject says it all. Want to head to a good restaurant with the wife Friday evening, somewhere we haven’t been before. It can be $100+ a person fancy, or it can be not nearly that fancy. Definitely one that makes a good ole fashioned.

But I’d really like one that does delicious wood fired steaks, bonus points if they have a bone-in cut of whatever variety.

I’ve had Pearl & Vine and Candente already. Both were tasty. Want to try State of Grace’s steak one day because it smells delicious when they have the wood lit, but want to wait until their crab fingers are back on the menu later in the year.

I have Credence saved in my Google Maps. I think because someone here mentioned the place as really good.

Also…if the restaurant you want to advise is awesome because their lamb chops cooked over wood is what separates it from the rest, I’m definitely open to that as well.

Thank you in advance, beautiful ladies and gentlemen.

Actually ate at their Denver location about 4-5 years ago. Was good.

That one is certainly under consideration. What have you eaten there?

I’ve heard of that place. Another one I have saved, like Cadence.

What did you like over there? I see they have a bone-in KC strip on the menu. That really has my interest.

I love the bone-in KC strip at Mastro’s, though it’s broiled. So I’m strongly considering Fielding’s now.

Everything at Credence is cooked over live fire in an open kitchen that's exposed to the dining room. Their steaks are excellent as are the seafood options. They do serve a bone-in ribeye for two. I usually get the hearth roasted whole fish and always enjoy it. The most favorite item is the not-to-be-missed Deviled Crabs. You'll want some monkey bread for soppin' up the tomato butter on the crabs.

It's probably the only place this side of Castroville that has Parisa on the menu. I love Parisa. Oyster options abound. The attentive staff keeps the martinis extra cold by switching out your glass as needed.

Hit up their speakeasy Sidebar around the corner of the building after dinner for live jazz and dancing. Reservations are highly recommended for both venues.

Made reservations this morning at Fielding’s since we want to be able to hang out in that part of Houston Friday evening; however, we will definitely be making our way to Credence soon. I want to try the deviled crabs and the roasted oysters with the chilis.
