Is anyone aware of any potential pickups from the 5 for 5 ruling? I’d imagine if that ruling had come out before the draft some of the guys who weren’t drafted would rather come back for another year in college than sign a UDFA deal or a practice squad deal. Maybe there’s a corner out there to provide depth.

That's part of the reason why the NCAA waited to make the announcement, to have rosters fill up to reduce the amount of lawsuits they'd have to file.
Instead, they could have just have just made all the 4 year players (c/o 2022) eligible and not bound by roster limits or portal windows and avoided a lot of this bullshite.

The seniors from the 2025 Ole Miss roster who left without being drafted or signing a free agent deal are players like:
Logan Diggs (RB)
Damien Taylor (RB)
Raphael Ekechi (RB)
Tyler Banks (LB)
Sage Ryan (S) - only candidate for a DB spot (wouldn't that be something lol)
Maealiuaki Smith (OL)
Zxavian Harris (DT): A massive senior tackle (6'8", 330 lbs) who transferred from Penn State. Despite his size and pedigree, he was not drafted and has no reported UDFA agreement.
Tavion Prather (DT): A senior defensive tackle who completed his eligibility without being selected or signing a free agent deal.
Jon Seaton (DT): Another senior interior lineman from Ole Miss who is currently unsigned.
Caleb James (DT): A senior defensive tackle who departed the program without a reported NFL contract.

Patrick Payton (DE, LSU):

To me the chances of picking someone up that provides any sort of impact Is slim to none.

I would think we would look for some depth pieces at CB and DE the ones I listed above would be who the current coaching staff would be familiar with that might be able to join late and still fill this role. But classes starting and 22 days until the season starts, I'm not sure how this all would work...

Zxavian Harris (DT). He signed an udfa deal with the Saints but was recently cut.

Patrick Payton has everything to gain coming back. Was it a lack of effort last year? I mean he was highly touted last year in the beginning.

He was the one I immediately thought of, but he was class of 2021 so does that make him ineligible for this? I'm very curious about the Xzavian Harris thing because the Saints just cut him and he wasn't drafted. He also grew up a huge LSU fan.
