And, for the record, I am in favor of vaccination. But, I also believe that it is the job of a healthcare professional to educate and advise, not mandate and coerce (this violates the autonomy of the individual).
#1. The correct title is Physician Assistant (PA for short); we have a collaborative relationship with a physician, but we do not belong to the physician. #2 We are nothing like a nurse; we are trained in the medical model, with a curriculum which essentially compresses the 4 years of medical school in 2.5 (we typically don't get the grounding in embryology or histology that comes with med school). #3. What does distinguish the physician and the physician assistant is the intensive residency that physicians complete after medical school, whereas most PAs enter directly into the workforce and hone their clinical skills under the tutelage of their colloborating physician.
Nothing to worry about here. If there's one thing the Army has prepared for, it's fighting for the peace-loving Atropians.
The initial release of COVID-- whether manufactured and intentionally spread or occurring naturally-- is a moot point. The essential point is examining China's behavior following the initial outbreak, which has been extremely opportunisitic and just as if a nation would act following the release of a biological agent. If you recognize that Chinese strategy is heavily informed by Sun Tzu, then you would realize that their highest form of warfare involves the fall of a rival without committing any troops to battle.
Unfortunately, this is all moot with the breadth and depth of government/corporate surveillance. Key leaders behind any secession movement would be snuffed out or imprisoned before the movement could reach critical mass.
Rick Perry's right on this one. We are already using Ketamine for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and intransigent depression at the VA. In a controlled setting, I could see where the use of psychodelics can potentially reset the ACTH axis (neural pathway for regulating stress response) in PTSD patients.
Anybody remember how the media was heralding the end of the Tories and Brexit prior to their last election? I think Trump not only wins, but gets the mandate this time around with down ballots.
This may have worked if the election remained a referendum on Trump, with Biden hiding in the background. However, the combination of the last debate and Hunter Biden's laptop defined Biden as a candidate and turned the election into a choice between two candidates. And, from what I've seen, the Democrats were not prepared for that.
That is indeed part of the question. The bigger question is how many reserves are left in the Democratic party for election day voting. I think the election day break for Republican party will be historic this year simply because Dems have put so much emphasis on mailing in their ballots.
Dems hold a 256K lead over Pubs in votes by party affiliation. I can't imagine that was the firewall they were hoping for, given the dynamics of this race and the Dems emphasis on mail-in voting vs. Pub emphasis on voting in person. Of the Southern states, I would think NC is most vulnerable to breaking to Biden, and that seems less likely at this point. Anyone see it differently?
Moderna quietly enrolled its 30k last week. I think Pfizer enrolled its 42k last week as well. So, I think late November would be the earliest for an EUA. December/January is more likely.
Yes to breaking up the tech monopolies, no to hanging Dorsey and Zuckerberg for what they donwith private corporations. Yes to revocation of Section 230, and see how quickly their profit margins evaporate.
Do you think this kind of early mail-in vote lead is the firewall that the dems hoped for? Based on my math and assuming a favorable break for dems from independents, this comes out to roughly a 1.4 million vote lead at present. PA had right at 6 million voters in the 2016 election. If the in-person voting breaks similarly for Pubs, that firewall will not be enough.

re: GA and TX polls

I think the AJC slant in GA is self-explanatory, but the Dallas Morning News and Houston Chronicle here in TX are both very much left-leaning as well. Wisconsin-Madison never came down from its acid trip in the 60s
No, I suspect that there is a long tradition of the FBI providing briefings to incoming presidents of the compromat they hold. I imagine Comey's initial briefing to Trump about the Steele Dossier was along these lines, but as the "proof" was not there, it was done in such a way as to entrap Trump in obstruction. Re the Hunter laptop, a compromised Biden may not be good for the country, but exceedingly useful for the FBI.
Your point about society's will being deadened by Whitmer is a good one, but keep in mind that the lockdowns have disproportionately affected the African-American community. Would not be surprised if the lockdowns became the overwhelming factor in Republicans making some inroads into the African-American vote.
I think the same way he handled the 60 minutes video. Concurrent recording by his handlers should be a precondition to any media access to the President.
Agreed. Revenge should not be his legacy. Focus on the judiciary, fix healthcare with transparency/free economic solutions, and remove the Section 230c protections from social media.

But in the background, silently clean house in State/DOJ/Treasury.

re: Where is Bill Barr?

He's doing what he's supposed to do-- keeping DOJ out of the political limelight this close to the election. Something which Comey famously failed to do (I know, different and subordinate role). Unfortunately, depending on how this election goes, 1) either the Durham investigation will never see the light of day 2) only part of it will come to light in the lame duck period before Biden squelches it, or 3) the FBI will press the investigation to its rightful conclusion with a Republican presidency.

Given the stakes, I admire Barr for sticking to his guns on this one and wish the Dems were similarly honor-bound.
A good fix, at least as far as social media is concerned, would be to remove the protections from liability afforded by Section 230(c).
