can some identify this plant?

this thing sprouted up 7 or 6 weeks ago
ive been telling the ol girl that its a weed, appears to be some type of johnson grass to me
she says NO, leave it
what is this?

That's Sorghum or Milo probably from bird seed and it will regrow if you let it got to seed.

Agreed that is a very healthy Milo plant. If you could grow a field of them just like that, you could make some money!

it’s sorghum, and as the others said it sprouted from birdseed. I dumped a big bag of sunflower seeds on an old stump over the winter for the squirrels and it obviously had a little milo in it because I’ve got some pretty big plants going now. I’m going to let it go it’s a pretty plant and provides food for the critters
