We all know you have to have a good defense in the SEC to have a great season and that group doing well on the road is what usually gives you that chance . For what Baker makes yearly do these numbers really support that?? If you did the math i'd say that's pretty close to 400 yard avg a game in 3 season under baker on the road in the SEC .

What are the stats for the defense when it’s the fourth quarter in a one score game?
Posted on 10/19/26 at 4:07 pm to FLObserver
Any time someone has an agenda they can almost certainly cherry pick stats to validate their belief.
You can choose to be a low IQ person and do just that, or you can choose to use a larger data set and judge the entire body of work.
The bottom line is that LSU's defense, while not perfect at all, has been far better than the morons on here make it out to be. That isn't opinion, it's just a fact.

You constantly cry about it, so why don't you tell us the numbers?
Here is a number I do know. What are the stats for number of post iPod makes complaining about something LSU? 99.999%.

What are the offenses?
I’ll add to this, who is a “worthy DC” of pay in your eyes? Show me a better one

4th quarter points per game rank (nationally):
Offense - 71st
Defense - 29th
Can't find a 1 score option.

The defense has improved each season under Blake. Folks have bad memories.

Post your job title so we can judge if you're worth the 37k a year.

3rd down % - 3rd
OM entering the game vs LSU was 35% on 3rd down, we gave up 60% to them, 78% in the 1st half
Kentucky is 20% vs other opponents this season on 3rd down, we gave up 36% to them.

The defense gave up 8 points in the second half against Ole Miss and 6 in the second half against Kentucky.
If you had offered that before the game for a Lane Kiffin coached team on the road against two good offenses and mediocre defenses I would have taken it 100/100 times.
Focusing on the final drive and ignoring everything else is just childish.

Ok so the only games it's been 1 score in the 4th are Ole Miss and Kentucky.
We allowed 8 and 6 (not counting OT)
and scored 3 and 7

Last season the defense was fine. The problem was the offense was averaging 19ppg.
This season they've been good for all but the first half of the Ole Miss game.
The Kentucky game was lost more because of the punt return for TD and Sam's terrible fumble. Neither of those were on the defense.

ChatGPT….LSU is tied for 22nd nationally among 138 FBS teams, allowing 6 second-half touchdowns including overtime—4 rushing and 2 passing.
Only 5 touchdowns in regulation. Factor in garbage time TDs for Clemson and McNeese.

Games are 2 halves long, in those games we gave up 413.5 ypg ahd 29.5ppg. Just for reference Matt House first year he gave up 377.8 ypg and 25.5ppg on the road.

And half of those were probably garbage time touchdowns given up by the second and third string defense.

Exactly.
But by all means, let’s focus on 1 drive and 1 play against Kentucky and Ole Miss to deem our DC “terrible”.

29.5 ppg is one drive? How did opponents manage to do that?
Posted on 10/19/26 at 4:26 pm to Madking
As I’ve stated in other threads, you’re looking at a random stat and focusing on specific miscues on one aspect of the team. But you and others that complain refuse to mention anything about special teams and offensive turnovers that ALSO contribute to a loss.
How about watching the actual football game and understanding why you lost the game
