Lane is persona non grata and the goal is to get him removed, the same way the NFL did with Payton.
Take something everyone did and make the smaller market team that is building something special and make them the face of the “decay” of the “integrity” of the shield.
Sound familiar?
SEC is going to give an ultimatum that LSU fire or give Lane (and Wade) a lengthy suspension, or face removal.
The NFL did it with Payton, and I think we may have seen Lane’s last game as LSU head coach, at least this year.
The gang of 15 does not care about integrity or justice, they just hate and fear Lane and what he is building at LSU.
It really is as simple as that.
They had every reason to let this go once we complied and didn’t roster the players. Instead they escalated, drastically. This is not a bluff.

If they suspend Lane for the rest of this season, I would support LSU not playing any more games this season. Just don’t show up for games.

Why would LSU agree to that? Firing their coach that they just spent a ton of money on and will have to pay a buyout? Absolutely torpedo this season? Seems like the option to leave would be a better choice.

Bruh. Stop. They did this so they can control aside from the ncaa. It’s been shown that the ncaa can’t do anything but thr conference can self govern and dictate rules as they are. Sort of private. I don’t agree but this if where it is. I doubt that there is even a meeting tomorrow

I have a feeling LSU will rather be kicked out of the SEC than suspend or fire Kiffin. We aren’t going to accept any crazy penalties like banning ourselves from playoff or anything. This will drag out in a cage match before that stuff will happen

The idea that LSU would be pushed out of the SEC does not hold up. Conferences protect programs that bring national attention, strong fan support, television value, and long-term revenue. LSU checks every one of those boxes. As one of the SEC’s original member programs with a major brand, a passionate fan base, and one of the most recognizable athletic departments in the country, LSU strengthens the conference. The SEC would have no practical reason to remove that kind of asset—especially if doing so could benefit the Big Ten, one of its biggest competitors. From a business, tradition, and competitive standpoint, the move makes no sense. LSU is not being forced out of the SEC.

This is your opinion? I am genuinely asking because far too often people try to pass off their opinion as facts and this screams opinion but I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and ask if you actually know something?

They CANNOT tell or force a state to fire an employee without cause. I can’t imagine that the rest of league would go along with that. Those school presidents don’t want the SEC telling them who to hire or fire.
That would reek of conspiracy and collusion to keep LSU’s football and basketball programs from being successful.

I still have a difficult time seeing LSU complying with firing Lane to appease the SEC. There might be some concessions, but I don’t envision anything drastic to satisfy the SEC. At that point - firing Lane (and possibly Wade) and post season ban, etc. - you’re probably better off just calling their bluff. It makes zero economic sense to kick LSU out of the conference.

Doesn't matter what you believe. They will fabricate something against the Bylaws to force them to do so. Corruption runs deep, there is no actual fairness and there never was. It was an illusion to keep generating them more and more money.

I do agree with you that jealousy is likely running rampant in the SEC .
Jay Johnson won 2 National Championships. Kim Mulkey is a constant target by the national media. LSU basically stuck their tongue out to everyone by re-hiring Will Wade. And Lane Kiffin is about to Sabanize the SEC.
Sankey would not mess with the university of Texas or Alabama. I think the other 15 universities of the SEC want to take the LSU brand down a notch. Just my two cents.
