Ive got a 2014 Outback and the rudder-up cable stopped working last week. Theres a bungee cord inside that came undone and I cant figure out where it's supposed to connect. I think thats the problem.

Anyone work on these or have this problem?

That happened to me on my 2017 Hobie PA12. On the PA12, there is a cleat/keeper on the inside of the hull that is part of the
molded plastic hull. The chord that connects the cheek block to the inside front of the kayak had somehow slipped off of the molded plastic keeper.

I don't know enough about this stuff to give a more concise answer, but the folks on the Hobie Forum board were very helpful and pointed me in the right direction.

thanks for the link. ill see if theres anything in those forums.

do you like your PA12? I was in the Backpacker the other day and the new Outbacks look really sweet. Always wanted a PA too. They have certainly gone up in price since I bought mine!

I have a pa12 and an outback. I am a bigger fella and prefer the pa12. Much more comfortable and spacious for fishing. My son and wife use the outback when they are able to make it, and they are perfectly comfortable in it.
They have definitely gotten expensive, I bought the pa12 on clearance from the backpacker, and bought the outback used.
