What did Ponamsky say?
Is Ponamsky employed by coach O?
Tehuma needs to spend some time this summer with the left tackle trainer, like the QBs do with George Whitfield. If there is such a camp.

How did you like Charlie Mac when he coached? He and Miles are almost twins.
Another year and the same old QB distraction. I beginning to believe Les likes orchestrating this QB controversy each year.
If the QB play does not improve this year then the problem has to be the head coach. Either he can't hire good coaches capable of coaching the QB position or he can't recruit and develop the QB position. The last potential reason could be that QB position is just not as important to Les as it is to the remainder of the football world. I really don't understand why LSU has such a consistent history of poor QB play during the Les Miles years. How many schools have the ridiculously high record of QB transfers that LSU has?

Back in the day there was a wooden chute. Put two linemen in the chute and see who could push who out the other side. It was more of a toughness drill. Our coaches did away with the wooden chute. Too many injuries. The Big Cat drill is that drill.
The Big Cat does not teach blocking technique. It is more like a Sumo wrestling contest. Big explosion into your opponent and attempt to drive him backwards or sideways.
re: A&M and Ky play defense!

LSU only has 2 players who can play defense inside. Both were in foul trouble and not available. To play aggressive defense you need a good bench. We are a guard team with two players who can compete inside at this level. Until you have a better bench don't expect better results.
re: 3-4 Okie defense...

In the late 60's I remember it called an okie front, a 50 front or an odd front. Since that time there have been lots of names and variations. Basically it is a 5 man front. Usually a nose, a pair of tackles and ends. Today they may be called outside linebackers. Even the nose has been moved off the center to the right or left. Some teams have used a small quick nose to shoot gaps. Today the fad is to use 325lb plus nose to eat up two blockers and to control two gaps.
re: Game Manager at Quarterback

First I must say I don't know what Miles means by game manager. A manager is someone who is in who has control or dictates direction. I am sure that the coaches are not going to give control of the game to the QB. I cringe every time I hear him say that because it seems as though we don't expect the QB to be the difference maker on the field. In pro football the QB is the highest paid player on the field because he is the biggest difference maker on so many teams. It sounds like we don't want one of those kind of Qb's. OUCH
re: Brandon Harris NOT attending Manning Camp

I don't think Brandon Harris has played enough college football to be invited as a counselor. His experience is not much different than that of true freshman. Maybe next year or the next if he gets some Game experience.
re: All we need is good QB play right?
Posted by EastTiger on 7/8/15 at 4:38 pm to Not Cooper
What do you mean by " good QB play"?
A. Game manager (does not turn the ball over, middle to lower passing in the SEC)
B. Playmaker (he picks teams apart, very accurate, top two in passing stats in the SEC)
huge difference between the two
No one knows how prepared or effective this defense will be under the new DC. Remember Lou Tepper.

re: Which LSU offense will we see our 1st game the TCU or Iowa?
Posted by EastTiger on 6/29/14 at 10:18 pm to broadcaster
The passing game will be the story. If AJ learns to throw the deep ball and makes quicker reads we should be ok. If not expect to see Harris. I still don't believe a true freshman QB can win? Maybe Cam can get the QB's prepared. If we can not throw deep we won't stretch the field. In that case we might as well tell them the which running play is coming and hope our big gladiators up front are too strong to be beaten. A real meat grinder kind of game. The running game will be much more like the Iowa game unless the defense can score 14.
Did Stringer just do the Buga nation sign?
Posted by EastTiger on 3/19/14 at 11:14 pm
Catching on?
From this thread you guys are saying that Jennings passing game will be 5-20 yards. We won't be able to stretch the defense vertically. We will have zone read and or play action off the power running game like the bowl game. No clear cut opinion on Rettig. Harris can throw the deep ball but struggles with everything else. Got it.
College football champs has always been subjective. You have to win enough to impress the voters. Winning has never been enough. Even with the new play off system the four teams that make must impress the committee or be left out.
re: Much needed REVENGE time.....

If we win you can always say we beat you with a true freshman QB starting his first game. If we loose you did not see the LSU team we had this year. This will be a tough game for LSU to win. Maybe the defense can play lights out and take up the slack of the offense. Before Cam's arrival I wouldn't expect LSU's offense to score more than 21points in this game if that much. Cam may find a mismatch or two to exploit. Anytime you loose your starting QB the probabilities are stacked against your offense remaining successful.
re: Iowa Players not Impressed with LSU

I hope you did not go to LSU. Because you have trouble with reading comprehension. You simply took a few words of a thought out of the context of that thought and changed the meaning. I see that with with a lot of democrats. Well most of politics is about these types of lies. Every time I catch a politician doing this I mark him as not intelligent enough to make good decisions. Go back to school.
