And then it should be a shoe in for a national championship?

Pretty much. Unless the defense is 2013 bad then it won't matter how good the offense is.

A shoe in on a very good to great season yeah. We haven't had a complete team in a good while. If the QB position isn't a concern we would have the most complete team we've had in a while

That's pretty much been the belief around here the last 6-8 years or so.

Jamarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, RP, Mett, even Jarrett Lee looked alright his senior year. The only shitty QB's he's had have been Jefferson and Jennings since he got here, can we tone down the "Miles can't have a good QB" rhetoric? It's bullshite and fueling it will only lead to unnecessary problems in LSU football and Miles' public perception

Miles has been here for 10 years and for 5 of those we've had pathetic QB play. And don't throw Lee in with the good QB's just because he didn't have to throw his senior year.

I'd say there is a chance

UNLESS, there is an elite team out there

Think about OU in 2004. Adrian Peterson, returning Heisman trophy QB and they got absolutely crushed in the NC game.

I wouldn't say so. We have a lot of question marks at key positions. New DC, DE, QB still a big?, other SEC west schools getting better. I'm excited about football season of course but a little nervous

I wish football season would just come so this question would quit being asked

Regardless of how much he threw, having 14 TD and only 3 INTs over 8 games means he was doing his job when asked to pass.

ETA: I still lump Lee in with the bad side, but only for his years prior to 2011. I still think he should have been playing over Jefferson after the 9-6 game in TuskyLoser.

Really sucks the one year we had a competent offense the is also the one year the defense took a step back.

And in the last 8 years we have been in two National Championships and won one of them. So I guess you could say that belief is correct fairly often.

It's laughable that people actually think this. No. He should not have played.

Of course not. But a good QB almost certainly makes us a national contender, a team that at least finishes in the top 10 at the end of the season. Something we haven't done since 2011.

You're one dumb motherfricker bud. Lee had a higher completion percentage, better TD to INT ratio, more yards per attempt, and his QBR was 152 compared to Jefferson's 138. Aside from your brain not firing on all 8 cylinders, why exactly do you think it's "laughable" for people to think that Lee had a pretty solid senior season and should've gotten to close it out? Would we have scored negative points with Lee leading the team in the national championship or something?

If you're counting giving the other team points as negative points then yes, we would have scored negative points in that game. He also threw 2 interceptions in 6 attempts vs alabama in that 9-6 game, and in his career vs alabama he threw 1 touchdown against 7 interceptions and completed 41% of his passes. While JJ in his career vs bama had 2 touchdowns to 1 interception and completed 65% of his passes, so yea Lee was definitely better.
