Tenacious defense is what LSU BB lacked this season. Just like in football, offense wins games and defense wins championships.

Neither A&M nor Ky got easy baskets today. Both teams were all over the court challenging the opponent and never letting up. The players never seemed to tire and were rarely out of position. A&M "D" is why LSU had a tough shooting day yesterday. If the coaches don't teach and motivate "D" and condition the players to go hard for 40 minutes, LSU will never compete at an elite level.

Great "D" was there when LSU beat Ky and A&M at home. However the passion to play that way throughout the season was sorely lacking.

It is the coach's job to keep the team conditioned and motivated. That shortcoming appears obvious!

Consistent teams play defense. It travels, it's reliable when you have off nights shooting.

LSU only has 2 players who can play defense inside. Both were in foul trouble and not available. To play aggressive defense you need a good bench. We are a guard team with two players who can compete inside at this level. Until you have a better bench don't expect better results.
