ESPN Analyst David Pollack Thinks 1 Top SEC Team Is Set For A Rude Awakening
© Stephen Lew-USA TODAY Sports
On Tuesday’s College Football Live, ESPN analyst David Pollack was asked if Arkansas could conceivably get to nine wins this season, which would require a 6-3 finish. He didn't seem so hopeful...
quote:

“I’m giving Arkansas (wins vs.) Arkansas Pine Bluff and Missouri. They’re 5-0, so alright kids play along. They need four of these, listen to this: Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, A&M. I need four of those to get to nine? No way.

“If they beat LSU, that’s a heck of a season. If they give Ole Miss a scare with a rebuilt defense, I don’t see it. I see Arkansas…again, this is positive for them going in the right direction with Sam Pittman, but ain’t no way in heck they’re getting to nine.”

THe harder question is will LSU get to 9 wins. I think Ark and LSU could have similar records at 8-4.

I don't think reasonable people are thinking Arkansas wins 9 games. but what a great turnaround for Arkansas.

Georgia / Arkansas is shaping up to be a good game. Dawgs still aren't where they need to be and the Hogs could surprise them.

"wins vs. Missouri." What???

Pollock is obviously on SECR. No one else thinks Arkansas is actually a 'top team'. Even the SECR is about 75% Arkansas is great meme vs real talk

Top SEC team?

Ok. We'll beat UAPB. That's 4-0. We will lose to Bama and UGA. 4-2. That leaves 6 games that we have a chance to win. Split and finish 7-5 is conceivable. Before the season, I was thinking 5-7 so finishing 3-5 in year 2 with Pittman would be a huge step.

I'm pulling for them against the rest besides LSU. They always got up for it when they played us.

After the last several years, I consider the fact that anyone is even addressing the possibility of 9 wins a victory in itself. No matter what happens, it’s been the best 3 weeks for a hog football fan in a long long time.

Didn't aggie just lose their starting qb for the season? Let's continue this discussion next week.

Who knows after the way they mollywopped Texas.

Yeah, but t.u. blew their load all over ULaLa and couldn't recover in time for arky. So I'm not ready to give them much credit for that win yet.

Arkansas can beat aTm. Odom has done miracles with that defense and Pittman has them believing. That is a good start for the Hogs.

Mizzou has beat them what 5 to 6 times straight and that’s a given W. Get out of here lol.

So they get 8 wins instead of 9. That’s a Rude awakening?
Reply28 days
Not getting 9 wins would be a rude awakening? Most of us are going to be happy with 6-6 and getting to a bowl game. Give us the schedule of the other two teams mentioned and we probably go 10-2.

Alabama (90% L), Georgia (70% L), Ole Miss (60% W), Auburn (50% W/L), LSU (60% W), A&M (55% W). I can see them beating Ole Miss, LSU, and one of either Auburn or A&M. I would rather see Arkansas have a great season than A&M or Bama.

That's a pretty reasonable take actually.

True, but pretty obvious. 99% of sec fans know that arky is getting ahead of their skies just because they beat utx.
