We have Zion shuttle reservations for 7 AM on Monday. Guess we better get in around that time to try & avoid some of the crowds.

From the article.

Those who already purchased tickets in advance will be prioritized in the boarding process, park officials said. However, a ticket is no longer required to board.

I’ve never been so can’t offer any suggestions. We will be there in late June too and was planning to try to get tickets online on the 31st but that’s not necessary now.

Be on the first few buses that leave or go to the east side of the park. The crowds are overwhelming the park.

Get to the park at 5-6am if you want to avoid lines. National parks are crazy nowadays from a crowds perspective

yeah we are heading to arches and canyonlands in July I’m hoping the hot weather tamps the crowds a little but I’ve been watching their updates and they’ve been closing off access to arches at mid morning lately due to capacity

easy way to ruin a vacation is to get caught up in long lines of traffic

Yep, Arches had a 3 hour long wait to get in when we went a few weeks ago. Canyonlands was about a 15 minute wait. Completely ridiculous. There’s so much other good nature in the US where you don’t have to deal w any of that

any suggestions for the east side of the park? I've researched and have a good handle on the narrows, angel's landing, etc. all the popular sites that require a shuttle.

At 720am the park was blocked out, and they were turning people back We waited a few hours hoping to be let in but called it quits. We were told it may be 1/2 pm. Then long shuttle lines inside I was told.
So we left for Page....

Get there EARLY. Went last October and parking lot was filling up by daylight each morning.

Where are you staying? I love Arches in the evening, the experience is just as good as daytime and the lighting is incredible. If you are willing to skip dinner, you can miss the crowds.

We went last year and visited a few times over the course of 3 days, best experience was when we spontaneously went after spending the day at Canyonlands. Entered park at 6:30, stayed till midnight watching the stars.

The family and I hiked out to double O arch and watched the sunset one day last June. Saw 4 people past landscape arch and felt like we had the whole park to ourselves. Quite the opposite experience as delicate arch at sunset.

Goodness. This is why I’ll never be a Zion person.

It’s incredible, but the crowds completely ruin it for me. The geography puts everyone on top of each other, and the crowd is usually very Jersey Shore, side trip from Vegas types.

All other national parks, I can find a way away from the crowds but I can’t figure out Zion. Give me Bryce, Capital Reef, and Canyonlands.

I said almost the exact same thing to my wife while we were there.
