Antigua is great, but most tourists don't spend time in the capital -- what are your plans in the city?

Wife (no pics) took a new job at the beginning of this year so not much as travel this year compared to any other year of the last decade. (2020 COVID year excepted)

PNW & BC
Cayman
British Virgin Islands
DC (a bunch, grandkid there & work-related too)
Grand Hotel
30A
Perdido & Oxford (a bunch)

I knew I hadn’t done much this year, actually writing this list has made me resolve to go somewhere at least once a month in ‘25.

Yes, and they seem to appreciate it - they send me brochures almost every day inviting me back.

I've been to Guatemala City a dozen times with my church. I don't think that there's three days worth of stuff to do there. And much of the city is dangerous in the evening. The museums there are nothing special: Popul Vuh might be the best, but it's barely worth the time. I would highly suggest visiting the Relief Map up in Zona 2: it's very much worthwhile.

But, overall, I would beg you to spend those three days on Lake Atitlan -- you'll have a much better time than spending hours in traffic in Guatemala City to see average sites.
