Yes. Or like the other replied comment about Contemporary is great. Especially for Magic Kingdom. I'm pretty sure Contemporary is quite a bit more expensive though

Wife and I stayed at the Yacht Club last year, love the convenience of being able to just walk into Epcot. The year before, took the kids and stayed at Fort Wilderness. The cabins felt like home and not coming back to a hotel room. It’s all what you make it out to be. Booked the Caribbean Beach resort next year to try out the Skyliner. Hoping that doesn’t disappoint.

Tough to pick one for every situation. During food and wine, Beach Club Villas for proximity to Epcot. With my son and focusing mainly on him during the trip, Bay Lake Tower for proximity to MK (although he would probably pick Beach Club for Stormalong Bay alone ). And for a couple's trip, Villas at Grand Floridian for ambiance, proximity to MK and ease of getting to Epcot, spa, golf, quiet pool areas. If I'm bringing along a big group, Saratoga Springs for the extra space and cheaper price/points.

ETA:

I have stayed at:

Old Key West
Saratoga Springs
Dixie Landing (Port Orleans Riverside now)
Bay Lake Tower
Villas at GF
Boardwalk Villas
Beach Club Villas

re: What is your favorite Disney resort to stay and why?
Have stayed at:

All-Star Music
Pop Century
Fort Wilderness
Coronado Springs
Boulder Ridge Villas
Wilderness Lodge
Contemporary
Polynesian
Animal Kingdom Lodge

Our favorites are easily Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge because they're beautiful. We really only stay at these at one of these resorts now. Our favorite time of year to go is in late November to early January, and nothing beats Wilderness Lodge at that time of year.

WL and AKL locations are not as good as some of the others, but we've been so many times, so we aren't in a rush. Wilderness Lodge is just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom.

Hotels we have stayed at :

Polynesian
Contemporary
Yacht Club
Wilderness Lodge
Dolphin
Art of Animation

Vacation Club Villas we have stayed at :

Beach Club
Boardwalk
Bay Lake Tower
Old Key West
Copper Creek Cabins
Riviera

We own DVC so we no longer stay in the hotels. Weird stat - our home resort is the Grand Floridian, but have yet to stay there.

I prefer Beach Club over Boardwalk - you can't beat being able to walk in the back gate at Epcot for fireworks and beer before the end of the night.

I enjoy Bay Lake Tower convenience of taking the skywalk to the Contemporary for the monorail. Magic Kingdom is our least favorite park though.

We stayed at the new Riviera in July for the Skyliner. Great place and the Skyliner is even better.

Our absolute favorite is the Cabins at Copper Creek.
YouTube a video for a tour. It's very convenient overall and has some of the higher quality food.

We will never stay at Old Key West again. Too spread out and seems inconvenient to everything.

How’d you like Dolphin? Staying after Christmas there for the first time.

As far as Disney property hotels go - I loved it. Upscale - not Disney themed. Plenty of food options between Dolphin and Swan. 5 minute walk or a boat ride to both Epcot or Studios. Only negative is there seems to be far fewer buses running to the parks and Disney Springs. It can be a long wait at times.

Stayed at Caribbean Beach in February. The Skyliner is so convenient. We like Port Orleans Riverside a lot but the Skyliner puts Caribbean Beach above it now. We had a Preferred Room in Barbados. It was halfway between the Skyliner Depot and the Lobby/Food Court.

Thanks for the info. I like to stay at resorts that give me more than 1 option (the bus) to travel to the parks. I asked our agent to try to get us a room in Jamaica so I can be close to the hub. We’ll see though.

I'm not doing on property any more. I rented a three bedroom house with a game room. Great with both kids having their own rooms and us having privacy.
Since you pay to park anyway and I hate the busses, I don't mind the 10 minute drive to the parks.

The rooms are too much for what you get.
I'm sold on Airbnb. Plus driving and Uber.

Typing this on my outside couch under a screened in pool area. Not a care in the world. No more $400 a night runs for me.

To answer OP I'm not loyal, we stayed at a different one every time. For the escape I liked Port Orleans (riverside) it's just so peaceful.

For rooms and aesthetics I liked Contemporary.
