4 of us mid 40 year old Dads are taking a friend to Vegas for his Bday(he's never been). As I said we're not in our 20s anymore and are looking for a place with a great sports book that we will not look like old has beens when in the casino. Also we still like to party so don't want the Wayne Newton specials either. Any one have good recs for us?

+1. The sports book at Aria is also a solid choice

Check out Circa and the sportsbook. It's in old Vegas but the hotel is only about a year or so old.

I'll echo the Caesar's Palace Sports Book.

We have a guys trip every year on a college football weekend and we love the Wynn sports book. We rent a couch area for 6 and it comes with all you can eat and drink.

Kaos is closed permanently.
Wynn/encore and Cosmo would be the best for partying. Caesars has a good sports book, but omnia won’t be what it was pre-pandemic.

NFL Sundays are a total madhouse here and you have to keep in mind seating is limited and if Governor Dumbass continues to govern the way he is I bet they still have masks and social distance requirements come NFL season.
They are already limiting seating capacity at the books and traditionally it has always been very tough to get a place to sit on Saturday/Sundays in the Fall without either showing up 2 hours early or paying.
Honestly I would find a casino host at a book and just pay for a table. That way you all can come and go as you please without worrying about someone taking the seats when you, for example, get up to go to the bathroom or get food. Circa in Downtown has the nicest sportsbook in town these days and prices might reflect that.
If you don't want to pay for seating you will have to show up at the book you want to go to at 8am or so. Especially if you are in a group. The seats fill up fast and people show up early. The best place for free seating will be Westgate because they open up their theatre and utilize all the seats in there for NFL Sundays as well. Apart from Westgate the rule of thumb is, the nicer the book, the harder it will be to find free seating.
Non Strip/Non Downtown casinos, my 2 favorite books are Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch.

Did this a few times myself. MGM is nicely set up basically everything you need . Stay at Signature Condos avoid resort fees and it’s all connected to main casino. Have fun.

Totally forgot about red rock, was there several years ago and that place was awesome.

Circa Stadium Swim is a must.

You guys will look that way, but then so do 75% of the people in casinos so I wouldn't sweat it.
I'd imagine the sportsbooks are a mad house on NFL Sundays. I was in a few of them for just a random college basketball Saturday last year and most of them were really busy. I'm not a sports bettor so can't comment on that part, but the Ceasar's one is really nice. The Bellagio one was kind of disappointing given how nice the rest of the property is. Off the strip I thought the Westgate Resort one was really nice as well.

I left LV some years ago, but if off-strip is an option take a look at The M (St. Rose and LV Blvd., literally a few minutes south of Mandalay Bay). It's in Henderson, technically, but I don't know if they follow LV's suit re: governance.
Green Valley Ranch (also in Hendo) was pretty solid. Also not far from LV proper.
But both of those places might be shite, since I've been out of NV for over a decade.

They took their book out, sadly. Was one of my off strip favorites. They stripped it all out entirely and now its just a William Hill betting kiosk in place of where the book used to be. Not even any seating. Just a kiosk.
Very disappointing.

Based on that photo looks like all the women stay away from that pool.

Circa is a really cool place. I was there for first 2 rounds of March Madness
