Vegas: Car rental vs. Uber

I'm playing in a poker tournament in June and will be staying downtown at the Golden Nugget. I'll be there maybe 6 nights and will be sharing accommodations and also ground travel most of the time. I've researched car rental prices and know that fees are high. Does anyone know what typical Uber/Lyft costs are? I'm trying to figure the most cost-effective way to get around. I've heard that rides from downtown to the strip can be pretty high.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Not only the rental costs, but parking fees and valet tips will run you dry. If on a budget, I'd uber/lyft and use the Monorail.

My wife and I use uber. It's pretty easy in Vegas and I am guessing cheaper (and definitely easier) than renting a car.

You’ll come out ahead with Uber/Lyft just when compared to the parking fees. Not to mention the gas and rental costs.

I take Lyft all over Vegas. No need to rent a car.

Make sure to take a limo at least once. They are fairly cheap from place to place. Ask the doorman for a price

I haven't been back to Vegas since Lyft added shared lyft. I would imagine that would be pretty convenient for going back and forth from the strip to Freemont street.

Depending where you are staying, the monorail may be an option

Keep in mind, if going back n forth between downtown and the strip, Uber/Lyft fees will add up. Anecdotally, I believe Lyft is cheaper in Vegas than Uber.
A decent amount of strip hotels (Wynn, Cosmo) still offer free parking, but most of the mgm and Caesar’s properties charge.
I’d still probably skip the rental so you dont have to worry about drinking.

I haven’t been to Vegas in several years, but when the heck did some places start charging for parking? That’s ridiculous.

Where's your poker tournament?

Parking is a pain. The only time we get a rental car in Vegas is when we want to take a day trip. Take uber between the old strip and the new strip. Same along the new strip when you can't walk or take the monorail.

Uber easy most casinos have pick up area for these. Tons of people drive these in Vegas. Pick up times are short.

Lyft or Uber is the way to go. Just came back a few weeks ago. Also, if you do not have a lyft account you can find a promo code pretty easy. This will give you first 4 to 6 rides half off. (Can't remember the exact deal). It cost us around $8 to travel from the Golden nugget to the strip after applying the promo code. You can get each person in your group that does not have a Lyft account to do this and will save you some money.

Over a year ago. Might be two now. The locals were in a big uproar about it
