I put my phone away and people watch. I'm not intentionally striking up a conversation, but doesn't bother me when someone does.

The conversations vary depending on what class you're sitting in.

Nobody wants to talk to anyone when you're sitting in the shithole that is CVG, ORD, EWR, etc. See someone wearing SEC gear, or hear an accent, in a place you don't expect it, fine. But not in shitty connection airports, everyone would just rather be home.
