I am looking for a 5-night getaway for me and my wife at end of October into the first of November. I have a bunch of different resorts to choose from with our credit card points. The first one listed is TRS Turquesa Hotel. All the choices are a bit overwhelming, so I’m seeking first-hand opinions here. Punta Cana must be the all inclusive capital of the world.

We did Secrets Cap Cana this May and loved it. Not much going on at night in terms of quality entertainment or other nightlife, but beach, pool, food, room, and staff were all great.

Is the Hilton La Romana on the list?

I do not see it listed, but that’s a place some friends went to and they loved it.

I know someone who stayed there and had a great time. I haven't been but have been on the TRS Yucatan property. The TRS brand is part of Grand Palladium, which is a Spanish resort company (Rafa Nadal is their big celebrity endorsement). The only significant thing about that is the Yucatan resort had more European guests than Americans, which is certainly not true of more resorts in the area. While everyone working at the resort spoke English, you might be initially addressed in Spanish.

I stayed at the Hilton La Romana in summer of 2022 and would recommend it. The best thing about that resort is that it basically stays completely free of sargassum. I especially enjoyed the service there at the onsite dive shop -- I chose the place because I was looking for a Hilton resort with the opportunity to dive, and the La Romana really delivered.

I've got a wedding party to go in February. I'm glad I found this.

Eden Roc Cap Cana is what was suggested. Anyone stayed here ?

I was looking at secrets but just get nervous with the lack of pictures and information. Not really sure what you are buying room and location wise.

We've stayed at both Excellence El Carmen and Excellence Punta Cana. We liked the swim up room better at El Carmen but we liked the staff better at Punta Cana. Staff can change so if I wwere to go back I would probably try El Carmen again.

Got back Wednesday from 5 nights at Excellence El Carmen.
Beautiful resort, awesome staff, nice room, lots to do.
Loved it!
Great variety of restaurants, but it seemed like most of the food was relatively bland except for probably one or two very tasty options at each.
Best dessert was at the Grill. Best steak at the French restaurant. Lunch pizza was great at Oregano.
Would love to go back!

I stayed here on a company trip. Was my least favorite all inclusive resort I’ve ever been to. The grounds/beach were nice, and they did have single malt scotch at lobby bar but other than that, was not my style.
