We're headed to Orlando for a convention in June ... staying at the host hotel ON Disney property but NOT a Disney property so there is no complimentary shuttle.

Anyone with any idea of safest/cheapest option?? Uber? There is a shuttle that is I want to say $40 r/t per person from airport to hotel.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cab it. It was less than $50 to get to universal in a van with car seats.

swan? dolphin?

We are DVC members and have taken disney's magical express and mears before that for years and years to disney properties. just grab a cab. i flew in late one year and had to head to a hotel across from seaworld for a convention. just cab it to hotel.

What hotel exactly? That would help. Some do actually have shuttles. But Uber works fine and it's easier.

We're booked at the Dolphin ... convention is between the Swan and Dolphin.

Just didn't know if there was a "best way" to get to the hotel from the airport.

Thanks.

i have never seen a shuttle for those hotels. only cabs. You could always call them and see. We stay mostly at the boardwalk and beach club right next door basically but we see lots of conventioners at swan and dolphin when we are there which is why i guessed you were there.

I'm seeing Mears listed for ~$37 round trip per person ... guess that's reasonable? Plus tip of course. But y'all tell me what's an appropriate tip -- we're in an area where cabs aren't an option and I want to be fair!

Uber seems to be rather nice and rather expensive in Orlando. Plus, Disney property is kind of a haul from the airport.

$40 for a shuttle seams reasonable to me. Depending on how many people you have and how long you will be in town, I wonder if it would be cheaper to just rent a car.

Yea, I believe Uber gets charged a ton to pick people up from the airport.

You can set your location at a place off airport grounds and the cost cuts in half. It's cheaper to take a cab to a hotel by the airport then take Uber from there to Disney.

Maybe call the hotel? Would be surprising they don't have something set up, that's a big hotel.

book with Mears. We did it on our last trip instead of the magical express. Driver was waiting on us by baggage. made it to Disney resort very fast. will do it for all future trips.

Don't know what the ride cost, as I didn't book/pay for it (wife did), but I handed the driver a 20. He was very nice, and got us to the resort in what felt like record time. Didn't ask for a tip, much unlike the Disney bellhop at the resort!
