Acropolis and Acropolis Museum for sure. If you have time, wander around Plaka.

I just got back from a Greece trip. One day is the perfect amount of time to spend in Athens. Go to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum at like 8 or 830AM. They get really crowded at around 10. I would also check out the old Olympic stadium too.

Hire a private driver to pick you up at dock. Only way to see it all in one day

That's Crete if you're talking Minotaurs.

Athens only really needs a day.

Everyone pretty much hit on the good points.

We used this company when we cruised there (I think it was in Summer 2017?). They did a good job.

Most of your big tourist spots are pretty close to each other, so you can hit most of the places in Athens in one day. A private driver is a good idea, but not necessary as there are plenty of cabs there and most people there speak english. Stay away from the Pakistani ghetto (forget the name of the area) as it can get pretty dicey in those areas. I've traveled my fair share and been through some rough areas, but the Athens ghettos were probably the most unnerving area I've been through. When your cab driver waits until the restaurant lets you in the doors and gives you his personal number to call him 10 minutes before we are ready to leave the restaurant, you know the area is bad.

George’s Taxi: LINK

You can have them pick you up..luggage and all. Determine what you want to see in the time you have. The drivers are pretty good tour guides. And they drop you off to your final destination. George’s Taxi was an awesome company..I think their TripAdvisor rating speaks for itself.
