Not looking like it...lol jk I am not from HTX but have only lived there in monthly spurts. I would say aside from sporting events, HTX is kind of bland as a vacation spot.

Museum District is a definite.
Zoo is pretty good but it is gonna be hot.
Moody Gardens in Galveston if you don't mind the drive.
NASA Johnson Space Center - Space Center Houston.

I'm headed there in 2 weeks myself. HTown has great museums: Natural History, the deMenil collection & the Rothko chapel, etc.
But I'm going to be eating Asian food; I'm going to eat dim sum, the best/most interesting Indian options I can find, etc.

Kanomwan for Thai.
Order S1 for soup and H1beef for entree
I worked in Thailand for a bit and this is the best Thai food I’ve had since I was there

Hang out at 8th Wonder then walk to the game.
I like the Conservatory downtown for some good food and beer choices.
Love Eureka Heights Brewery!

Do some research on the food scene. Very underrated.

Look...Houston is a city of mercenaries...everyone who moved here is here to make money...there are very few native Houstonians...except for me...born, raised, love this hot concrete jungle.
You eat, drink, shop, cheer on the Astros, and bitch about traffic.
If you need suggestions for any of the eating, drinking and shopping, lemme know...you'll leave Houston surprised.
