I grew up there... Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride are all awesome.

Each season is fantastic with the exception of Spring

Have family in Durango. One day hope to join them and make that area home. It’s absolutely beautiful there.

Now that you mention it, there has only been a few times I’ve been out fly fishing on the Animus that I’ve seen other fishermen/explorers. Rafters sure, but that’s pretty much it. I liked it that way lol.

It’s mud season. It’s grey and rainy, and you can’t do much outside. There’s either too much snow, or there’s too much snow melt.

Most people leave town and head to the desert for a month or two.

Cool. I'd like to visit there one day. Will avoid spring time.

There’s so much to love - from the fishing to the hunting. And then you have all the winter sports too.

I still remember my first drive up to Durango via New Mexico. We were getting close to the border when I noticed something weird going on with the clouds off in the distance. Yeah..they weren’t clouds, It was the snow capped San Juan’s. Truly something you have to see in person to really appreciate. Coming from Louisiana Id never seen anything like it and thought I was entering another planet. Awesome stuff.

I had the same reaction :)

I was driving west across the Dakotas, and when I saw those snow capped mountains in Montana, I knew I had made the right decision.
