Here for daughters convention. Wife and kids in classes and workshops the next day or two. Im alone with a hopper ticket. What to do?
. I feel like just being old and grabbing a rocking chair on Sawyers island and people watch. Just feels odd.

Any of yall ever solo'd at Disney?

I’ve always said if I could I’d stroll through Epcot and world showcase and check out everything they had. Always interests me but never get to slow down with kids not really caring about it much.

First time we went, the son was a little cranky one afternoon, so the wife took him back to the room for a nap. I did Epcot solo that entire afternoon and had a blast. Honestly, one of the best parts of the trip for me. They ended up napping for 3 hours, then told me to take my time because they were going to the pool.

I just drank beer, rode Soar and Test Track a few times, and walked around the Countries section people watching. Thought about staying for the nightly show but guilt got the better of me and I went back to teh room.

Haff a great time. Rode the main street horseless carriage with a old couple from England. Then did the steamboat and a few rides the kids hate.
Then like always ran into some people I knew and was no longer Solo as they had me convince their daughter that Big Thunder wasn't scary. Lol

Going to walk world showcase now. Craving a pretzel and a beer from Germany.

Sort of solo...except I’m the third parent along for the trip—meaning that if I need to grab a niece or nephew for supervision, I’m here. Been here for two days with sister and bro-in-law with their 3 kids. It really hasn’t been too bad, yoga pants and spandex leggings are plentiful among the milf faithful and I have had access to Stone Delicious IPA across the parks. Other than sis’s 12-hour suck-arse itinerary, I have been enjoying myself. I also have come to the conclusion that those who come in the summer are friggin suckers for heat punishment, no way I could sweat it out in the heat here all day in the summer.

I was in the Orlando area last year around the first of March for a conference. The hotel offered the conference tickets that let you in from 5 till park close. Tired of being in classes all day I decided to get the ticket and go. Went to MK. Got in right at 5 and stayed till close. It was fun walking around and just taking my time and enjoying seeing things that I may have not noticed in the last trips. Enjoyed a dole whip and searched for a certain popcorn bucket the wife wanted. I did ride 4 or 5 rides during this time also. I also FaceTimed my kids during the fireworks so they could enjoy a little bit of it.

I wish. I did grab some drinks. I haven't had a drink since August sip I felt good. Regal Eagle had long lines but the food booths at the Art Fest in Epcot had tons of good stuff.

Catch the Voices Of Liberty at the American Pavillion. They perform before you are let into the theater for the American Experience.

I've been solo once. EPCOT is the answer. If its hot, you could go to one of the water parks and "people watch". Also, see what events are going on at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

For me, it would depend on how social I felt like being.

Epcot would be a nice choice for me but only if I felt like "peopling" that day. Ive been to Epcot before with another person and we just kind of made it a point to meet different people in each country which was fun.

If not, I would probably opt for Animal Kingdom. Two shows that would eliminate the option for talking to others (Lion King and Finding Nemo), the animation experience at conservation station, safari can be done solo, single rider at everest, Flight of Passage FP's are easier to come by if you're only a party of one, Nomad lounge is one of the best lounges on property AND when you're all done hop over to the lounge/bar at Sanaa for an awesome dinner and some of the best wine on property.

My favorite spot to wind down a bit and have a nice drink.

To the OP, EPCOT was the right answer. If you are feeling social, walk into The Rose & Crown for a pint of Guinness and a chat. I have met many wonderful people from around the world in there. It is a must do on every trip. Catching all of the street shows in the World Showcase is something that way too many people miss as well. Enjoy!

Looks like I'm a bit late, but World Showcase is the likely answer here.

I was speaking at a conference a couple of years ago and one afternoon, there were zero sessions I had any interest in, and I had a day leftover from an old hopper (back when they had no expiration as a standard option). I was staying at the Swan, so took a boat to the international gateway.

Hit up a few of the countries, really walked through them. Had a few beers. Was there probably 4-5 hours.

When I was a good bit younger and just started traveling on my own as an adult I took some solo trips to Disney. Walking into one of the parks with nothing to do but whatever the hell you want is a pretty cool feeling.

Epcot for me. When I was married I went to Disney 6 times with family. I did Epcot and downtown Disney solo a little and then magic kingdom for the extra magic hours till 2 AM with my son. We ride all the rides 3-4 times that were still open. No lines straight onto the rides.

Been once in March, once in April, twice in June and twice in July. Next time I go I’m going in October
