The last few times I went to New Orleans we stayed at the Higgins Hotel adjacent to the WW-II Museum. It’s well run and comfortable. I sometimes stay at the Windsor Court but usually when I go alone for work.

This idea that New Orleans is unsafe for tourists, doing tourist things, is insane.

New Orleans can be unsafe for young local black people.

Metairie options also exist around Severn St there is a Fairfield in if you like Marriott Brand and there is a Homewood Suites Hilton Brand. I would not stay at Hampton in close by VERY noisy and dingy. I have stayed at that Homewood Suites many times by myself and felt safe. If I am staying downtown I pick The Roosevelt but like others said most of the hotels downtown tourist areas are safe.

Play Fallen Oak or drive to Philadelphia and play Dancing Rabbit. Kinda looks like Augusta without the huge hills

Either stay in Ocean Springs and play The Preserve or Shell Landing or stay in Gulfport and play Grand Bear.
