Knuckleheads in Ocean Springs. Adventures in Biloxi if you won't be bothered by people smoking inside.

Everything at Cochon Butcher, specifically the Moroccan Spiced Lamb.
I'll second The Roost if you don't want to stay in a casino. There is also a new boutique hotel on Gov St. in Ocean Springs called OS Hotel. Just opened but may be worth a shot.
Either stay in Ocean Springs and play The Preserve or Shell Landing or stay in Gulfport and play Grand Bear.
Non-gambling recommendation, but make the short drive over the bridge to downtown Ocean Springs one day. Lots of bars, restaurants, and stores on Government Street.

Thanks for all the responses. To clarify, my "bust" concerns are primarily trying to avoid places or activities that are over-priced and over-crowded. I appreciate the ongoing feedback.

Southern Italy Advice

Esteemed members of the travel board - in the early stages of planning a mid 2026 family Italy trip. So far, the only thing decided is a few days in Rome. There is some interest from the group in spending some time in the Amalfi Coast and/or Sorrento. I have some concerns that this leg of the trip has the highest "bust" potential. Any guidance would be appreciated on where to stay and what to avoid in this region. Group is comprised of adult kids and mid-age parents. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ate at the MS location. It was really in Kiln rather than Pass Christian - not easy to get to. Thought it was very solid for TX style BBQ in MS.
Thanks for the great guide. Heading there in August for a bachelor party (12 guys mostly late 20's). We're staying around the Gold Coast and will likely attempt to do one big sit down dinner. Any recommendations for a restaurant around Gold Coast that could accommodate a potentially loud and inebriated large group?

Thanks,
Mahoney's, White Pillars, and Maison de Lu in Ocean Springs
Any lodging recommendations in Cusco? Heading there for a wedding next year.

Austin Hotel for UT Football Game

Posted by RenardoSidney on 3/19/24 at 3:23 pm
Looking to make a long weekend trip to Austin this fall for a UT game. Would appreciate any rec's on hotels to check out. For context, late 20's, would prioritize proximity to restaurants and bars over DKR. Thanks in advance.

2nd for Two Bros. Restaurant Tyler, Commodore Bob's, and Anthony's in West Point if you don't mind a 20 min drive.
Skip the casino steak houses and go to Mary Mahoney's across the street from Hardrock/Beau instead. Will be a lot more fun and you'll probably spend less money. Make sure you reserve well in advance if you have a big group.

Also, spend an evening in Downtown Ocean Springs (Government Street). It's about a 10 minute uber. Alot of good casual food options (Murky Waters, Mosaics, Gov St Grocery). If you want something nicer, Maison de Lu or Phoenicias, which is brown bag so make sure you stop at a liquor store. They allow open containers so you can bar hop down the street. I like Glory Bound and Mosaics - they usually have live music. Then late night at the casinos.
