Awesome trip OP. Looks like you did it all in 9-10 days? Looking to do a similar trip this fall but starting in NM or Denver, starting and ending in Denver most likely. Spent 6 years as a kid in Alamogordo so would like to go back for the sake of nostalgia.

Are there any of those places you wish you had more time? We'll have about 14 days to make the loop.

Awesome trip, I am doing something similar with my 13 year old granddaughter this summer, through the Yukon and AK.

Awesome pictures and summary. Thanks for sharing.

We travelled out to South Utah in Summer 2020 and visited the Mighty 5 National Parks: Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands. I've never seen such natural beauty in all of my life and I can't wait to return.

Awesome trip! Enjoyed reading it & the pics.

We're planning to hit several of those stops on our road trip in a few months.

How long did the Bryce Canyon driving tour take? I don't currently have this park on the agenda due to time constraints, but if Navajo Nation remains closed, then I may add it after we leave Zion instead of Monument Valley & Four Corners.

Thank you very much for sharing this. What a treat for both of you! We have a 11-year old daughter and have agreed to travel with her to all 50 days by the time she graduates, but this post inspired me to make sure she takes at least one, good, long trip with just my husband. Memories of a lifetime!

We just did Arizona last week ourselves. Looks like we hit the Grand Canyon one day before you. Stayed in Flagstaff for 4 days and made it our base camp to visit the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest and Sedona.

Came away really impressed with Flagstaff. Fun downtown and good food.

Stayed just outside the city and never have seen so many stars on a clear night. Beautiful and makes you realize how much light pollution prevents us from seeing the universe on a nightly basis.

To be honest was not expecting much from the trip as it was always something I wanted to do but wasn’t the first on the list. Probably was my favorite vacation since a week at RMNP a few years ago.

Will definitely return to the area in my lifetime.

How long did the Bryce Canyon
With zero traffic, it only took a few hours. I’m sure that during the spring and summer it would take a little longer.

all the stops/lookouts are on the lefthand side of the road, so if you want to see them all, boogie on past everything to the end then work your way back stopping along the way. It took us several hours doing that

alternatively you could drive to the end, spend time at that location (there’s a little hike you can take) then drive past everything else and park back at the amphitheater. From there you can hike down into the canyon and spend as much time as you want

I'm headed to Zion/Bryce on a guys trip at the end of October that was postponed from last May and those pics got me pretty excited.

I also have two boys - 8 and 4 - and we're going to start taking them to at least one national park a year starting next year. Very excited about that.
