Can anyone recommend the closest mountains I can visit in a couple weeks to see the change of colors?
Sorry, from Hammond.

The Alps since you provided zero info of where you are.

I’m not sure which is closest, since I don’t know where you live.

Vermont is the best answer.

Ozark Mountains in Arkansas are closest to LA, I believe.

It’s a quicker drive to northern Bama, GA, and Tenn for mountains

Edit: if someone lives near I10

Can you wait 2-3 weeks longer?

Based on this, Driskill Mountain should reach peak color around Nov 25.

Man, you are about to miss all of the “good” viewing spots like the Maples of Vermont and the Aspens of Colorado! However, none of those are close.

Late October? Don’t know where you are but North Carolina / east Tenn is probably the only mountain area that would still have color.

Have property southwest of Chattanooga. Probably just go there. Was never there at that time.

If you mean now, go to the 2026 Fall Foliage Map and see where the peak is predicted for your time frame. North Geogia, Arkansas? Or further north.

Six hours to North Alabama - Cheaha State Park - or seven and a half to West Central Arkansas - Queen Wilhelmina State Park. Nothing else close to Hammond would be considered mountainous.
