North Dakota... where you can watch your dog run away for three days.

Thinking of submitting a job application to an AF contractor. Always wanted to visit that part of the country. Love to hunt and fish. Don't like it very cold but I'm not a pussy.

There's a difference between freezing cold and -12, its hard to explain until you've experienced it. But for a short term job, it would certainly be a good experience.

I go about once a month for work. Next trip mid-January for about a week. The cold isn't the worst of it, just bundle up. It's the wind that makes it almost unbearable. Sunny, no wind, -5 deg, really isn't too bad. Summer's are great though. Lake Metigoshe is only about 90 minutes away and an awesome place to spend the weekend. Food pretty much sucks everywhere if you're from the south, but the people are extremely nice up there and almost no crime.

I enjoyed my time in that area of North Dakota. I spent a few winter months there over the last couple of years.

If you dress appropriately the cold will not be an issue. If the wind was not blowing I could go out in shorts and a long sleeve and be fine in 30 degree temps.
