Thanks! Nothing on there so far.

So I’m guessing they won’t let you just cancel the flight?
My options with United going to Columbia SC for Thursday are the 8:00AM or 12:30PM.
I guess I could try to out on Friday.

Thank you for posting the United waiver, updated the OP. If you see any of the other airlines feel free to say AA or DL or Southwest has the waiver up and I'll add the detailed info throughout the day.

Storm looks to be wrapping up in BR Thursday around noon but I wouldn't trust that forecast. Leave Tuesday or Friday

I have a question about an upcoming SW flight. I am supposed to leave out of MSY on SW at 5:15 PM this Wednesday. There is a travel waiver in place, but I have no interest in rebooking the flight to another time. It is work related travel and I will miss the event so there is no need to make the trip. I would prefer a full refund, but currently SW is only offering travel credit. But it if SW cancels the flight, then I am entitled to a refund. I am about 90% sure the flight will be cancelled.
Just trying to gauge the headache of waiting for the flight to be cancelled, then calling their 800 number in order to get a refund. If it is not cancelled, I believe I can still cancel up until flight time for the travel credits. Total ticket price is $325 and I usually fly SW 1-2 times per year, but would rather the refund. Any advice?

Since it's work, wait until the last minute and get the full refund once it officially cancels. I think you have up until an hr before the flight to cancel on southwest

Do you think flights into MSY on Thursday afternoon will be impacted?
Posted on 9/9/24 at 2:52 pm to Swagga
AA on the board, no delta yet.
The biggest issue flying out after a hurricane is the damage. Don't know if there is debris on the runway that needs to be cleared off, if workers are stuck at home and can't make it to the airport, etc. You may be okay, but if your airline decides to cancel then you're likely not rebooking until Saturday since everyone else from Tuesday and Wednesday will be rebooking to Friday. It's a guessing game as to when operations start back up. Maybe you'd be fine, I can't say. Winds right now at noon look to be 18mph sustained, not sure about gusts. 18mph is windy but manageable

Missed this. I'm not sure similar to the post above. I don't want to say change it if AA ends up operating the noon flight, but if it's cancelled day of and everything is full until Saturday that's a risk

Sooo, I'm flying out of New Orleans 8 AM Wednesday- Chances the flight takes off?
Posted on 9/9/24 at 2:58 pm to junior
I'd say low to very low. Winds pick up by 10am, not sure any airlines will want to leave planes overnight in MSY Tuesday into Wednesday. Can you leave Tuesday night?

That’s what I figured. My flight doesn’t arrive till 4pm Thursday but trying to figure out what to do.
I’ll keep monitoring for now.
