It’s been over 15 years since flying out.

If my flight is at 5:30AM, what time should I arrive? I don’t want to get hung up forever with all the check in shenanigans.

I flew out at 6:30 on Saturday. I arrived at 5 and was at my gate about 45 minutes before my flight boarded. If you have nothing to check an hour to an hour and a half would be fine.

Flew twice in the last few months, No issues. I'd say be there for 4ish and you should be fine.

Really depends when you go, but usually its not too bad. Certain airlines also take a while to check luggage, and those lines can be really long (Southwest). Generally, if you dont have to check a bag, you shouldnt have to ever wait longer than 30-45 min in security, in my experience.

Flew out southwest this past Wednesday there. Flight left at 6 and walked into southwest line for 4:30. Line took forever then on to TSA which also took a while. Made it to terminal when they started boarding.

Are you checking bags? What airline?
If yes to checking bags and flying on Southwest, give yourself at least 1.5 hrs prior to flight. The bag check lines in the early AM can be stupidly long for SW.

If not checking bags and being dropped off, 1 hour at that time of the morning should be fine.

If you've got to park and walk or take a shuttle, 1 hr 45 mins.

Do bring a breakfast snack, as the options at 5:30 am are severely limited.

Checking a bag, at least one hour before. Especially if no TSA Pre-check.

It not checking a bag and you have TSA Pre-Check, I usually show up 30-40 minutes before.

I've never once noticed this any shorter than the regular line at MSY.

I’ve flown out of Nola twice in the last month. Both times it took me an hour to get through security. If you do fly out of there....arrive earlier than you would plan too

United/Delta Terminal seems to flow better for me than the SW or American. Checking a bag with United doesn't suck nearly as bad as SW.

Odd. I fly out of MSY 3-4 times a month. Precheck is always shorter than non. Perhaps b/c I usually fly out stupid early?

45 minutes in line to check a bag with Southwest at 6am last month. There were only 3 people working. Some people missed flights. Why can’t Southwest fix this?
