Will be in San Diego Friday July 5th through Thursday July 11th, with kids (9 and 7)

The following are the main activities we are planning:
- San Diego Zoo
- Safari Park
- Sea World
- Lego Land
- Midway Aircraft Carrier

Considering that we'll be there over July 4th weekend, what place(s) would be best to visit on Saturday and Sunday (factoring in crowd size)?

Also, I'm looking into getting San Diego Cards for each person in our group. Anyone have any good/bad experience using them?

Thanks!

Ride out to Coronado. It’s an awesome little “island/town”, the beach is fantastic. Take time to visit La Jolla, they have great coves and it’s a little more upscale. Mission Beach isn’t bad as well. You could fill up your days with what you listed adding Coronado, La Jolla, and Mission Beach. Of course take a visit to Old Town and Little Italy. If the Padres are playing you have to go to PETCO Park.

San Diego is one of the best cities in America. Enjoy

Seconded on this.

Just cruising around a beach for a bit is nice. Mission Beach has the most activities with the boardwalk, amusement park and just general beach stuff, but La Jolla and PB are great as well.

The zoo is fantastic, you'll love it. If you were going to split a day and do the beach the other half, I'd do it on the Midway day. The Midway is awesome, but you can do it in 4-6 hours and have time left over for the beach and/or a Padres game.

If you go to La Jolla, visit the Jim Sea Cave. A real oddity, you enter it behind the counter in a gift shop.

And if you are up for it, rent kayaks and paddle the cove with the kids or rent bikes. Better make kayak reservations, 4th of July it probably is sold out.

Half a day spend at Cabrillo National Monument - best views by far and go down to tide pools as well on your way down.

I second this. I’ve done the kayak tour at LaJolla twice. I thought it would be lame, but it’s actually really cool. Torrey Pines for a nice little hike. I fricking love San Diego. Can’t wait to go back.

Lego land was not that good IMO and was too expensive. Mission Beach is pretty cool

Will be a lot of money for all of those:
Zoo
Safari Park
Legoland
Sea World

I would say skip Safari Park, you can spend most of the day at the zoo.

Legoland is perfect for those kid's ages.
Good thing about Legoland and SeaWorld is the crowds are very light most of the time. Although you are paying for it, you can do both parks in probably a half day, no lines when we went at either park.

Maybe catch a Padres game.
