Edit - I chose trip #2 since it was unanimous here and from family members that I asked. I booked it and paid the $900 deposit. After doing so, my wife reviewed the info to add it to her calendar and informed me that I had booked a 2028 cruise instead of the 2027 that I thought that I booked. Oh well, I guess I need to plan a 2027 vacation now.

Both are about the same price and both would be in June.

Choice #1 -
Cape Liberty, New Jersey
Saint John’s, New Brunswick
Halifax, Nova Scotia
St. John’s, Newfoundland
Qaqortoq, Greenland
Isafjordur, Iceland
Reykjavik, Iceland

Choice #2 -
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Oslo, Norway
Skagen, Denmark
Stockholm, Sweden
Tallinn, Estonia
Helsinki, Finland
Copenhagen, Denmark
Amsterdam, Netherlands

I want to do this one, but waiting until St Petersburg is one of the stops again.

I would go with #2.
They both look good and you can't go wrong with either.

I have one similar to #2 upcoming. I have a Viking Homelands cruise to Scandinavia scheduled for next year and am looking forward to it. I haven't been to any of those places yet, except for Amsterdam. I took a river cruise that embarked in Amsterdam and had a great time there.

As for #1, I have been on New England and Canada cruises which included Halifax and the St. Johns. I would classify those ports as enjoyable but not spectacular. I am sure the highlights would be Iceland and Greenland.

Do you like sea days? If so #1. If you hate sea days, #2.

I really enjoy Celebrity, you can’t go wrong with either.

Which ships are they?

Sailed on the Summit before, it is my favorite Celebrity ship. Apex is newer (and bigger) but neither of that appeals to me.

Whether you like new ships or not that could be a decision maker

#2 for my tastes. Just finished a similar trip on Viking (Homelands). No port lacked unique histories, flavors, and wonderful people, during my trip.

Planning a cruise from US to Norway via Greenland and Iceland in a future year. That proabaly jades my opinion on suggesting a cruise to you. Enjoy your cruise, whichever you choose.

I am glad to hear the positive reviews of the Viking Homelands. That is the one I have scheduled.

I call myself a Viking snob, but just enjoy their style from ships to customer base. For the Homelands, one excusrion stood out. In Tallinn, the 'Soviet Bus Tour" was very well done and the experience superb. It has limited capacity, so sign up early if that intrigues you.

We were on the Venus (Viking Homelands Bergen to Stockholm - May 2022). Because of the war, they cut out Estonia and St. Petersburg. Viking has since added Tallinn, Estonia back into the Viking Homelands itinerary. Sorry I missed those ports. BUT..it was my favorite of the 4 Viking Ocean cruises we've done.

Viking Homelands

I dont know about celebrity cruise lines but can say viking is top notch. However, if you are like us, will be one of youngest on boat.

I would say #2. Sounds like a nice trip
