Some idea of budget would help.

It's out there a little bit, but we like the Martinique out in Ft Morgan. It's not a high rise, the pool doesn't get super crowded if you get tired of the beach, and the units are super nice and spacious. And it borders the Bon Secour conservation area on its east side, so the beach isn't super crowded.
Downside is it's a good 10-20 minute drive to GS/OB for dining and entertainment options. Not a huge deal to us as we generally hole up and cook in most meals.

Any of the Phoenix properties are recommended. The newer ones may be out of your price range though since some are 3-4 bedrooms only.
A few have lazy rivers or splash pads.
We're staying at Phoenix West 2 in June.

It's def. a nice place, but getting to the beach is kind of a pain, especially with young kids and lots of stuff you may be hauling.

We like the cabins on the lake in the state park, or renting a house on the bay in Ft Morgan.

I've never been, but a friend with kids likes The Beach Club. It has multiple restaurants, lodging, beach all at the site, so they don't have to load up car seats and haul crap around to do things or get dinner.

Second the Caribe esp for your price range. ......enough pools, slides, lazy river, putting green, etc to keep kids occupied. Trolly service to the beach side is great and can actually enjoy covered beach access under the bay overpass if it gets too hot for the kiddos.
only thing I don't like is shallowness of the lazy river but is perfect for your kids

We stayed at the beach club last year with our 3 year old and her 5 year old cousin. Nice place for families.

I've got a condo at sugar beach bit it isn't big enough for you guys. Location is convenient with direct beach access. Coffee and liquor shop right across the street

We prefer the Beach Club in Ft. Morgan. It is off the beaten path, but that's why we like it. Also, you can catch the ferry if the traffic is bad.

When we stay in that area, prefer Perdido Key.
This year staying at Beach Colony.

There's a couple condo buildings, just before the bridge in OB, heading to Perdido, that we always like to stay. It's nice, because we can enjoy the beach and not worry about driving to dinner - just walk across the street to something in SanRoc Cay Marina or down to The Gulf.
Has anyone ever stayed at Martinique on The Gulf in GS? I have always thought it looked pretty cool with a golf cart ride to the beach and being able to launch the kayaks and fish just across the street in the bay.
