Wife and I are looking to have a last trip before first child is born this summer. Don’t want to fly. Looking for a beach town where we can spend time on beach and have things to do for adults, besides drinking of course. No need for nightlife. Not trying to break the bank or go cheap by any means. Send any tips my way.

Bang for buck, Pensacola Beach is probably the best right now

This. Hotels on beach going for $130/night.
Grand Marlin great, close enough to downtown for basically anything you want.

My favorite place to stay is 30A vs the big skyscraper hotels and condos. You still have the beautiful water, but with a fraction of the people.

My two favorite spots are very different. Love Fort Morgan but part of that is based on the fact that there is nothing going on there. Have also been to 30A a lot. I love it as well but it’s much more crowded (and expensive).

I've been going everwhere from Dauphin Island to Mexico Beach for most of my life and you can't really go wrong with any of them. We are low key and boring, we pretty much just veg on the beach.
Best beach I've probably ever had was PCB during the oil slick. Worst was probably a couple years of tropical storms in Dauphin Island but still have a blast each and every time.
Quietest places during peak season was always east end of Perdido Key or Dauphin Island.

I second Fort Morgan. Not many people. It has relaxing and beautiful beaches, and it’s a quick 15-20 min drive to Gulf Shores

You have a valid point there. I've never had that many downvotes on the Travel Board, then realized why.

Another vote for Pensacola Beach; Portofino if budget allows. National Seashore next door, Pensacola for restaurants & night life, Naval Aviation Museum is open again, easy drive.
