Want to do a quick little 3-day trip in a month or two and have pretty much narrowed it down to these two. From what I've gathered so far:

Nugget
Better rooms (newer)
Better pool scene
Better gym

Beau
Better casino
Better spa

Can anyone weigh in on restaurants/clientele/whatever else? Any covid bullshite or hurricane damage to speak of? Haven't been to either and would appreciate any info on your preferences. Thx

I think either one you will be happy with. IMO, I think the actual pool/lazy river is better at the Beau. The shops are better at the beau (if you're married and bringing your wife) I also like the sports book in the Beau. Just went for the playoffs, I haven't been to the nugget in years so I'm not sure if they even have one. As far as rules, not really any "bullshite" rules for covid, same old same old ...

I also choose the Beau because it's way closer for me. Spent many hours in their poker room.

I'm not saying Biloxi is the Pearl of the Gulf Coast but anywhere compared to Lake Charles may be.

BR has a way better class of clientele and restaurants vs any casino on the coast. Was just in the book for a weekend of the NCAAs, it’s good to go. You gotta go off campus for night life, though. Go to downtown ocean springs. MS Is done with covid outside of the casinos

The standalone Half Shell Oyster House in Biloxi is amazing. About 1/2 mile from the Beau. Not the one in Hard Rock, the standalone one.

My two cents is LC is still recovering from two hurricanes. The casinos are fine but lots of the local hot spots aren’t all back to normal.

Vic & Anthony’s > BR Prime

Beau is obviously dated

Pool at Nugget is full of Houston bachelorette parties

Beau has sports book

Good input from everyone. Thanks guys. Think the pool at GN is calling my name. Beau will be more fun when NBA playoffs are in full swing

I was in Biloxi last week. We stayed at the White House but did go to the Beau. It was a mixed bag. Casino was going strong with social distancing. Restaurants - BR Prime was open. Stalla, the Italian restaurant, is open only on the weekend. The sports book has a sports bar and grill that serves food. Buffet closed. Live music venues including the theater and the round bar in front are closed.

Most of the neighborhood restaurants are in full swing like Mary Mahoneys and the Half Shell.

Cora's restaurant and bar in the White House Hotel was excellent.

Mask requirement in the casino but very little evidence of covid restrictions elsewhere around town including in the bars and restaurants. Same with Bay St. Louis.

so GN and LaBerge didnt really suffer much damage and are good to go, so is Darrels if you want to hit it up.

121, Calla, Fire and Oak(owners of 1910), Luna, Mazens(my suggestion), cousins and a couple more are all open too. If you want boiled seafood, hit up OBs(trust me)

but night life outside the casino will be lacking. But if you plan to stay at casino and maybe eat a meal or two away, GN would be fine. All of the nicer shops around LC that I know of are open if that makes a difference. I know BR has nicer shops inside.

GN and Laberge are going to be newer than BR and GN is more up to date. BR is going to have much more of a resort feel and have more things to do with more being open.

Going to be up to you. Not like GN/Laberge are doing the concert series right now. Honestly I would say do GN/Laberge if wanting to relax, drink and maybe hit up a club in the casino. BR if not.

As far as covid, LC doenst give a frick about covid after the hurricanes other than a couple of the plants caring. People have way more important things to worry about than some bullshite. No stores really require mask or will say anything. No limits on restruants that I can tell. Most bars are closed due to hurricane but there are plenty of nice restruant bars to choice from, specifically Calla, Fire and Oak and Mazens and then you have the ones in the casino.

But no place in LA gives less fricks about covid than LC right now.

So no mask and things wide open at the casinos?

Mazen is one of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette, will have to go to the LC one. How is Fire & Oak? Haven’t heard of it

Both are gross. Rent a room at The Pearl or Bay Town Inn in BSL Place bets at either the Hollywood or the Silver Slipper, or both...then spend the rest of your time hanging out with normal people, at normal restaurants and bars.

LC is original(well allidins was) and Mazen himself is there cooking almost every night. introduces lots of new dishes too.

Fire & Oak i have not been to yet. But i loved 1910 which was the previous restruant. I know it has a real big whiskey selection. I would imagine it is very good. But I would prolyl suggest Calla over it if you have not been and going with your wife.

not sure in the casino itself, but yes to restruants and everywhere else around town.

Casino prolly makes you wear going in, then doesnt give frick. around town, nobody cares at all.
