Hilton Head is great. The Charleston islands and beaches are awesome too though. All of them have a slight different offering and vibe.

I would find activity with most A/C. This time of year very humid during the day. Takes a lot of enjoyment out of you.

if you are planning on tybee on a weekend day, don’t. If it’s a weekday you’ll be good, still crowded though. If you do go to tybee make sure and stop at huc-a-poo’s which might be the best bar in America

Are you spending nights in both cities or just taking a day trip to one?
We went to both last year and was in Charleston for 2, then Savannah for 1 night and then back to Charleston. Not sure that was the best idea but we met friends that flew in & out of Charleston. It took us longer to drive between the two than I expected.
I haven’t been to the AF museum so can’t compare the two.

It’s a one-hour drive from Savannah to Hilton Head. Tybee is easier to reach if you're going back and forth to Savannah. However, I find the beach and atmosphere in Hilton Head to be better overall.
