It's not just AA. Most of our major domestic airlines suck. If it was up to me, I would only fly Delta and Southwest as they are a notch above the rest and having their shite together and making the least mistakes. I've traveled regularly for the past 5 years for work and have flown every airline regularly and AA is definitely the worst for late/cancelled flights. The only reason I fly AA or United is I occasionally have to fly to Dallas/Charlotte/Houston, or they have easy connections from those airports. If Delta wasn't so expensive, I would fly with them everytime.

I never fly them. Cousin is in upper management of a tech company in Phoenix, they actually have a moratorium on business travel on AA despite being located in one of their hub cities.

Aside from having one of the worst on-time records in the industry, the service flat out sucks. Delta is who I fly when I have to be somewhere for work. Alaska is pretty good, as is United. Even Jetblue is better than AA.

Frontier and Allegiant are worse.

Agree recently went to Vegas - 4/4 legs delayed. Only leg not delayed is the damn plane that left early from Dallas, was the last flight out to Vegas and the gate knew we were running and still gave away our seats to standby employees that wanted to fly. My buddy was at the gate updating them and they still didn’t care.

Didn’t comp our hotel though they claimed they would (since we didn’t want to use a Motel 8 in Dallas). My buddy gets really pissed about this stuff and has tried to talk to someone and has not been able to get a person on the phone. Just emails.

I already booked a flight in December w them, but that’ll be it. I shoulda stuck w delta - just a pain to get to Dallas and the west coast w delta sometimes.

AA sucks!!

Had the opportunity to fly with someone’s family pet (aka comfort animal) stretched out across all three seats a few weeks back.

All legroom was taken. Wasn’t offered a chance to move. Arrived to Charlotte covered in dog hair from a full grown German Shepherd.

I fly AA only bc I don't want to drive to MSY to wait in extremely long lines. BTR is the way to go. Never had a problem with AA yet.

Right now, AA ranks way behind Delta in terms of customer service, on-time arrivals, lost luggage, etc. -- every way that you can measure. All those figures are available online if you want to take the time to look them up.

Delta is in a class of their own for domestic travel. SWA is a distant 2nd.

I got fed up with them years ago when they changed the equipment for our return flight and reassigned all our seats. So the two adults (with one lap child) and a not quite 3 year old scattered all over the plane. Ticket counter said they would fix it at the gate, gate agent says get the flight attendants to help you, and they couldn’t have cared less. Told the guy sitting next to my 3 yo I’d buy him a drink for switching seats with me and he was decent enough to do so. frick ‘em

AA swapped out our plane between DFW and SUX earlier this year and as a result my seat assignment changed at the gate as I was boarding. We get up to altitude and the stewardess started drink service. Once she got to me her handheld alerted her to something, she leaned down and asked if I was armed. I looked at her funny, then she asked if I was police. I had no idea what she was talking about so she showed me her handheld which said my seat was supposed to be occupied by an air Marshall. Apparently her handheld wasn’t updated when the seat assignment was changed.

I had a delta flight from MCI to ATL a couple weeks ago where they had a similar equipment change. Also saw a Delta gate agent laugh at a customer for using the wrong terminology. For the most part Delta is better but neither are anywhere near perfect.

I've had some decent experiences with AA (though I am usually flying their regional jets ran by other companies)

I've had a bad experience with every major airline, what sets them apart is how they respond to the experience...both in real time and in any further follow up communication with the airline.

Delta and JetBlue are in a class of their own in this regard.

I find Southwest to be completely bipolar in their IROP management.

Delta is best for regular domestic.
United is best for elites.
AA is worst for everyone.
