The sing along is fun for boys too (so long as they know and like the songs) the Olaf now has a meet & greet at HS too.

We're taking our 2 year old daughter for the first time at the end of February. We are taking a 4 day Disney cruise out of Port Canaveral. We get off the ship Thursday morning and have a condo near Disney until Sunday morning. I'm wondering if we should bother trying to go to a park on Thursday or maybe just do Downtown Disney that day? And I was thinking about doing MK one day and AK the other but now I'm wondering if we should do MK both days and maybe AK on the day we get off the ship?

Will you have a car at the port? If you will (or will be renting a car) do the express disembarkation (carry your own luggage off) and you'll be off the boat before 7:45 am and be in the parks no later than 10.

Thats probably what I would do. In AK their FP+ are not tiered so make sure you ge one for the safari and Lion King...with your third FP+ maybe consider minnie and mickey outpost.

FYI, The Brown Derby in HS is really good and especially easy for lunch. Just show up when they open and walk in to be seated. They are most accommodating, it is a nice quite comfortable experience and the food is really very good.

Honey I Shrunk the Kids area is closed for good.
Just got back from Thanksgiving trip. Took my 5 and 3 year old boys. We went a year and a half ago when they were 3.5 and 1.5.

Both times we went we spent two days at Magic Kingdom, 1 day at Animal Kingdom, and did Epcot and Hollywood Studios in the same day.
If your kids watch Disney Jr, then they would like the Disney Jr live show at HS. Pet show is there too and that's cool. Toy Story is awesome. Other than that, there really isn't much there for under 5 year olds. I guess the Frozen thing, but we aren't into princesses.
Epcot is pretty boring as well for an under 5 year old, which is why we spent the same day at those two places. There's a boat that connects those two parks that you can take.

The kids could probably go to Magic Kingdom every day and wouldn't complain about missing the other parks.

We did two days at Universal. My 5 year old enjoyed it b/c he likes super heroes, and he was tall enough to ride a good big of the rides. if the water area is open then Universal is a good place for the under 5 kids for a day. My 3 year old couldn't sit in the normal seats for Minions b/c he's too short. Still did it, but you stand up 10 feet from a gigantic screen.
The superheroes that come out actually talk to you. got to talk to Spider-Man and I think if it was allowed my 5 year old would have spent the whole day talking to him. There was no one in line behind him when he talked to him and he was asking him all kinds of questions about different villains and all. it was pretty entertaining for us.
With little ones, you could probably spend 1 long day at the two Universal parks and do everything, assuming you're there to do kids stuff, not go ride the roller coasters and other rides the kids can't.

I think the biggest thing with the little ones is finding the play areas for them to run around. Honey I Shrunk the kids was a great one. They don't have one at HS now. Epcot has that flower area, but only in the spring. Magic Kingdom has that water area by the Barnstormer. Animal Kingdom has the best one now with that dig site. Universal has the Dr. Seuss water area.

For young kids not into princesses, Jedi Training is a cool option. My daughter (now 7) has done it twice and she loves it.

If they like meeting characters there are quite a few that meet in the World Showcase. My wife and I need at least 5 hours to tour the world showcase properly and there isn't enough to keep our little entertained for 5 straight hours but we've found if we do half one day and half one evening and end it with Illuminations she does much better.

I'm here now--wife, four year old and six year old daughters.

Sunday--full day at Epcot. Did everything possible and juggled the fast passes like crazy. Little hint--you can usually show up about 20 minutes early and still use your fast passes.

Today--Hollywood all day and just got back from
Magic kingdom fireworks. Hollywood is a good park for resting. Frozen sing along was awesome and 30 minutes of cold air conditioning. Indiana jones and beauty in the beast were ok--same as 8 years ago. Overall--I think you can spend 9 hours here and then park hop somewhere else that's open late.

Tomorrow--magic kingdom and be there until midnight for Mickey's big Christmas party.

Wednesday--animal kingdom and maybe another park.

Thursday--back to magic kingdom.

Overall--fun time but crazy expensive to be herded and told where to be/what to do. Hopefully our last Disney trip. I prefer all inclusive on a beach.

ok...somebody needs to explain the fast passes to me like I'm 5

I've tried to ask my wife, but she doesn't really know either, she just knows that we have them

also, not including lodging, flights, fast passes...is $1500 enough for 3 people to do reasonable things for 4 days within the park?

because that is what I budgeted...

Two year old is tough. Just got back with my 6 & 3 year old. 6 year old rode everything and loved it, 3 year old too short for space mountain but did everything else. There are still a lot 2 year old can do. With pics and shows, don't hesitate to split up some so. Oth get most out of experience

Tix are gonna be around 1200, so you've got $75/day which is fine. Pack snacks and water.

Download Disney World app and look up fast passes. You can get 3 early FP but once you burn through those you can get 1 at a time afterwards. When you've burned initial three and getting one at a time after you scan card in fast pass line cancel fast pass and get another one. It's quicker vs waiting for it to register. 7D Mine Train & Peter Pan FP are like gold

If you stay on site you can reserve your fast passes 60 days prior to arrival, off site is 30 days. You just go online and they link to your account (either your tickets or magic band or whatever). You can't choose specific rides or times though but you can play with the system until you get what you want. Once all 3 are used, you can get 1 more fast pass at a time at certain kiosks throughout the parks.

$1500 should be plenty. If you are staying on site you really just have food to pay for. There's as little or much miscellaneous expenses as you want. Make reservations for your dinners ahead of time and we usually reserve one or two breakfast either. Most recommend eating as you go so you are flexible, instead of making a reservation for lunch and ending up on the other side of the park having to walk there.

I'll give you a couple of tips. Talk up some of the workers early in the day and they usually throw you a couple of fastpass tix that are good for any ride. Also, Epcot has a scavenger hunt with maps. Get one for the kids and it keeps them busy while you grab beers around the world. If you're staying on property take advantage of the magic hours. You can get a bunch of rides in before the park gets crowded. Don't get caught in the, "I've got to stick to my schedule!" Take breaks and relax by the hotel pools. You will see the schedule nazi's dragging their miserable kids around the park.

Best thing about Disney is the customer service. If you need something ask the managers anywhere and they will accommodate you. I've had rooms/meal/drinks/tix all comped for just bullshitting with the workers.
