Yeah? What dates are the waterparks opening? Hotel reservations for non-Disney club owners?

The parks will reopen with some important updates to promote physical distancing, including:

Park Reservations: Initially, park attendance will be managed through a new park reservation system. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date is required.
New Ticket Sales: At this time, new ticket sales are temporarily paused. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold. Additional details will be shared with these Guests soon. New ticket sales will resume after that period of time.
New Disney Resort Hotel Reservations: At this time, new reservations at Disney Resort hotels are temporarily paused so we can focus on Guests with existing reservations (Disney Vacation Club Members can still make new reservations). Reservations will resume after that period of time.
Upon reopening, theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences and other offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote physical distancing.

Additionally, attractions, experiences (such as shows, parades and fireworks), services and amenities may have limited availability or may remain closed. We will provide more information as it becomes available. We reserve the right to cancel any reservations, admission media or purchases and provide applicable refunds. Please also see our policies regarding cancellations by Guests.

Disney has been openingly courting the NBA and MLS to come play there, so it seems like they just don't give a crap about their theme parks.

The NBA likely won't start until the end of June the two have nothing to do with one another. The sports world was saying opening the parks may signal that Disney will not be the landing spot for the NBA.

Summer sucks already without masks. Our next trip isn't until next october/november. Hopefully by then things will calm down.

Well of course they’re going to reopen the week after I’m scheduled to go. Going to try and reschedule for August now.

No worries. Usually when you respond to someone's specific post, that indicates you're responding to them. I just assumed you were talking to me.

Why anyone would pay Disney prices for a limited Disney experience?

We currently have trip planned for late September. No way my kids are going to wear masks all day long. And what, are they going to take pics with princesses wearing masks, too? I don't want a pic of my kid standing next to Cinderella, with Cinderella wearing a mask.

We're likely going to cancel and try again next year.

We're planning to go next March. Hopefully things are back to normal by that point.

Universal Studios announced their plan to open in June and that the plan has already been approved by the government prior to Disney even submitting a plan to open a full month later. It certainly appears that Disney is incompetent and lacking good leadership right now.

Word that I saw was that Disney was wanting to open the end of August. They even tried preventing Universal from opening in June. But when Universal went with it and got approved and Seaworld followed it out Disney in panic mode and they had to throw it together as quickly as possible.

We are going end of September for a week. We have a 2 and will be 5 year old. Hoping by then things are a little back to normal.

Just announced on Orlando task force meeting

6 weeks = 2 months in your world? Also, they will be doing soft openings prior to the opening date.

So because you don't agree with them or a smaller park opens earlier, that makes them incompetent? You don't think Disney wants to open as quickly as possible to make revenue? There is much more to running a business than aimlessly reacting to what a competitor does. They may be being prudent rather than incompetent.

I think since they sent all the Epcot employee's back home to their respective countries there's a lot of logistics in getting them to return to even open epcot. Maybe that's way it's opening a few days later than magic kingdom and animal kingdom.

Universal Studios - 2 parks opening in 1 week

Disney - 2 parks opening in 7 weeks

Universal - water park opening in 1 week

Disney - water parks not scheduled to open

Universal - all hotels opening in 1 week

Disney - only vacation clubs opening in 4 weeks, otherwise reservations not being taken

Universal - tickets on sale

Disney - no sale date for tickets

Yeah, sounds like they don't have their shite together. I mean, its not like they've had 10 weeks to plan for this . . . . oh wait

I'm thinking we're going to hold off until maybe Feb. b/c my kids school takes a winter break then. I've just been looking forward to it b/c there is some new thing's I've been wanting to checkout. Mainly the Star Wars rides and there is also a new Taproom in Disney Springs with a massive amount of craft beer on tap.. But my kids with be the most bummed out for sure.

That it does, we went a few years ago during July and our only saving grace was that we brought those cool towels that you wet and leave around your neck..

Honestly as much as we go I hate going in the Summer, but with kids in school that the only time that we can..

I'd almost prefer it rained everyday as opposed to oppressive heat.. We're prepared for that between light weight hiking gear and chaco's I can stand a light constant drizzle..
