We are going to Steamboat in February, will these prices remain? We went a few years back and I don't recall it being near this expensive.

How many years back? Inflation is a bi atch. Ski resorts were hit hard in 2020 with the pandemic so wouldn’t doubt they are trying to catch up.

They have fluctuating prices too. The next three weekends are kids off of school weekends and prices will be up. I saw a resort where last week was 160/day and the next two weeks are 240/day.

3 years ago. Ya, I get what you’re saying about catching up. Hopefully they don’t overdo it and have another low revenue season

I actually think those are discounted prices from window prices, so grab them while you can.

This is all acnedotal, but I don’t see why ski resorts won’t have a banner year. People want to get out to exercise and get into the country/ mountains. Generally speaking skiing is a socially distanced event, outside of the lodges, food, and lines lol. So if they can plan a little they could definitely stay slammed. I’m not sure their plans, but I’m guessing that’s the hope.

Well... there are no “window prices” this year. At least not at the main / bigger mountains.

They make so much money off people waiting to buy day passes at the last minute. Why reduce prices?

Damn. We’re skiing Heavenly for $109/day

19-20 Keystone window passes were $135. Regardless if “window prices” are happening at this given moment, the price of $121 on that list is discounted from what would be window prices.
Hence my comment.

And that’s why you buy a ski pass

Walk up at Keystone last year was listed outside at $179, idk what they actually charged. Last January, a friend that bought 3 days at Beaver Creek at walk up rate (it was a corporate reimbursement). It was the price of my Epic Local Season pass. Last weekend at Vail was $99 per day which is lower than a buddy/SWAF ticket.
The breakeven on passes is not that many days.

Criminal. You can ski a top notch resort in Switzerland for a fraction and Switzerland is a damn expensive place.
