No you can cancel online (I think). I've gone that route in the past but if you can't access your reservation online then I'd wait and do it in person to confirm

I have totally written off southwest for multiple reasons, but mostly due to their point to point model. Without traditional hubs, if things get out of hand, it's a domino effect of pure shite. You can get stranded in a random airport with no other flights, it's happened to me. Not to mention the random storms that only affect southwest. And their clientele seems to keep getting worse and more unaware.

Their drink tickets and witty announcements only go so far.

I really hope we can get to London on American without any hiccups. Only an hour layover at dfw makes me nervous. If we get delayed at all outta AEX we are screwed.

Good to hear. I’ll keep y’all posted. It’s an overnight. Longest flight of my life (9 hours) so interested to see if I’ll be able to really sleep on an airplane.

I decided early on to make the drive from SoFlo to North Georgia, instead of flying. frick it. I’d rather spend 12 hours in a car than deal with the holiday flying crowd and airline nonsense.

Little far to go ft Lauderdale to Seattle for me . Finally pushed back from the gate here in Atlanta 2.5 hrs late, I've been here since noon. Ready for my own bed, safe travels everyone else. I'll check back in on the southwest flyers tomorrow to see if additional help is needed

Eta: Well about the only nice thing about this flight is there's free WiFi once you sign in with your skymiles account

I’m a DL crew member. I’ve been working since 12/22. It’s been insane. That is all. The crews are getting thrown around just as much as the passengers. It’s terrible. That’s all.

I have worked some terrible jobs, but one I cannot and will not ever work is an airline crew member. It's a roll of the dice as to whether you're getting dicked by the public or your own company that day. On the really fun days, it's both.

Thought I would add an update for posterity’s sake.

Drove the 45 min again to MSY for my $1200 delta flight last night. About 20 min from airport I get notice flight was delayed.

Have to get in line for ticket agent bc I would miss connecting in Salt Lake. Lady tells me the earliest flight from SLC to Phx is Wednesday. Has to rebook me to Phx for the following morning for a 750am flight thru ATL.

What world is this?

So now family turns around to get me AGAIN and had to wake up at 5am to bring me back. I must say-they are saints. I definitely owe them.

When I got my check in and boarding pass it still said “assign seat”. So I feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football. Luckily I got to the gate and got a seat. They checked me in to the connection flight and looks like I got first class seat. If that goes thru at least I will feel less of the last minute $1200 one way raping.

I am still grateful that so many others were affected much worse. Saw on twitter video SW told people at Phx Sky Harbor to go home because they couldn’t rebook them for 4 days.

LINK

Just unacceptable. Friends sent me story last night that the Government is getting involved to look into SW due to them following up complaints from customers. Hopefully they get MASSIVE fines and into some deep trouble.

Yeah it’s a complete screw job by SW.
I don’t think they are gonna be able to get away with what they have pulled and are continuing to pull.

Hope you make it back to PHX soon, just a heads-up that American operates a nonstop between PHX and MSY now. Southwest used to be the only nonstop but it is nice to have another option now.

My daughter has a flight from MSY to St. Louis next Monday, 1/2, on SW. What are the chances their flights will be back on track by then?

If southwest is able to do a full reset this week, it'd be hopeful they have their shite in order by then but who knows. Next few days will be telling. I'd book a backup flight now just in case

We’ve got our original reservation from MSY to DAL at 9:15 tomorrow. It is one of two flights that has not canceled yet. And this flight has made it out the past 3 days so I’m holding onto hope.

Couldn’t get a rental car today.

Have a backup AA flight that is at 8pm. Would suck sitting in MSY all day and then land at a different airport than our car is at late at night. But nothing else I can do at this point. Wouldn’t be as bad if it was just me, but with a 4 month old… not quite as fun.

Possible dumb question here. I booked a "fully refundable" ticket with American as backup. When is the deadline I would have to cancel by and still get my refund?
