Not for the kids, but there's no better way for me to get comfortable on a flight.
Also, if the flight concerns you, go to your primary care and get Ambien. Take it during take off, wake up for breakfast.
I can carry on for two weeks, that's about my limit, but I always put an empty backpack in my bag. This way if I need to check on the way back I have a carry on and a small bag for day trips.
For hotels you can't get much more in the middle of things than the Hyatt Place. Holiday Inn was a little dumpy, may have been remodeling it though and the Residence Inn is fine, just a short walk.
frick that dude harder than anything has ever been fricked before.

The state no longer gives you credit for federal taxes paid. My tax guy explained it this year. You no longer get to deduct that from your income like years past.

Idiots voted for this. It was presented as a two percent or so tax cut.
I just walked up to the window and bought a ticket.
Every dumbass decision from the DOTD has been this guy. He said I10 would be one lane for construction, then magically two before he announced he was running, that's not a coincidence. He has a doctorate in sociology, insists on being called Dr., knows nothing about transportation and is a useless appointed bureaucrat. Have fun being a dumbass.

Only if you are flying on a Delta flight that same day.
Whoever the hell puts the music and images in these videos damn near ruins the message.
You absolutely can, I did it. Took a train to Bayeux by way of Caen, and a bus from Bayeux to Omaha beach. Saw the cemetery, sat on Omaha beach for a while, had a look around the museum and got on the train back to Paris. If you only have one day, it's more than worth it to go see Omaha Beach.
Deals to Tokyo

The points guy just posted yesterday about flight deals to Japan.
If it's two legs of the same flight, no need to do any of that, except disembark and find your gate.

You'll show your passport at your first airport, then maybe again right before you get on the plane.
Didn't start with it, but if you had #8 and didn't Crazy Taxi or Power Stone, gtfo.

I have totally written off southwest for multiple reasons, but mostly due to their point to point model. Without traditional hubs, if things get out of hand, it's a domino effect of pure shite. You can get stranded in a random airport with no other flights, it's happened to me. Not to mention the random storms that only affect southwest. And their clientele seems to keep getting worse and more unaware.

Their drink tickets and witty announcements only go so far.

Sounds like you have a shitty team full of jaded assholes.
Spend more time in the west. Galway is great, it looks like what you think Ireland cities look like. You can also catch a trad session most nights. Aran islands may be tough to do in January, depending on weather. It definitely won't be bike riding weather.

See the Cliffs of Moher on your way to dingle. Dublin is cool, but it's more of just another international city. Belfast has a whole different feel than the rest of Ireland, but definitely interesting. A black taxi tour is a good way to learn about The Troubles and see a lot of history.

Read your post again. Just three days in the west, you can stay in Galway and take day trips to where you want to see, then take the train to Dublin.
Summer is going to be high. There's a direct to Munich from CLT. Check Dublin, it's usually not too bad.
